How can Moroccan hash be good when its made from shite weed?
Hi, was wondering about hash.
Moroccan hash is often rated as being very good (before it gets contaminated in Spain) Yet, the weed they grow in the Rif mountains is rubbish, a very seedy and probably weak Sativa. So how comes Moroccan hash has become a brand that is associated with being strong? Also, can u tell the difference between a Sativa and Indica based Hash?

I cant imagine the weed they make the hash from is bad, thats just not possible. its weak and so on after they shaked the skuff from it, but if they sold the weed without shaking I would say it has to be a good one. they just dont do it, because smuggling weed from morroco to the EU is much harder than doing it with hash....as easy as this.

Agree dude.Kermit wrote:Looks can be deceiving (IMO). Also the weed grown for hash production is just that. Whether or not it tastes good is little concern to any1 as it is grown only for its resin production.
My pennys worth
Also it may not be shit, just very different to the indoor mostly hydro that we have become used to...

I agree looks can be deceiving, but compare that to outdoor natural sativas like Jamaican, south americans, Thai or even Mexican shwag weed.Sir Niall of Essex-sire wrote:Agree dude.Kermit wrote:Looks can be deceiving (IMO). No, they would be sativas, in the main.I thought most Morroccan landrace strains were indicas.
Since hash is mainly the trichomes (aka resin glands) of the cannabis plant and some plant matter, then the weed does NOT have to be killer diller to make good hash. (BUT, it would take more plants to get the same quantity of trichomes, if you use a lower quality bud.)How can Moroccan hash be good when its made from shite weed?
The plants in Morrocco, are grown for hash, so potency as MJ, is not a real concern to them.
The tradtional way they make hash, in Morrocco, is, as follows:
They get a whole bunch of dried cannabis plants, put them in a sack, tie the end shut, and then beat the hell out of the sack. After some time, they stop, let the dust settle and, then open the bag and collect the trichomes.
Although there are some variations in the method, that is basically it.
After the first gathering, they can then sieve the hash (gathered from the sack, as per method, above) to remove more of the plant matter, leaving a better quality of kif. This can be done several times, each time using a finer mesh to get a better quality.
(If you have ever made water/ice hash (aka "full melt" hash or isolater hash), then, the idea, but not the method, is the same. Shake/agitate the dried bud to get the trichomes to separate from the plant, gather the trichomes, and filter out impurities. That is why bubble bags come with different mesh sizes, so that you can filter down to the quality you want. The finer the mesh, the higher the quality, but the lower the yields.)
Then, for smuggling purposes, the kif can be pressed into blocks of hash.
You are joking yeh?Prestoned wrote:You have to think tho, that weed has been grown without HPS, without nutrients and without the love that urban growers have
The Sun in these countries is far more powerful than HPS and the nutes are normally shipped in.
Try growing without nutes (Just water) and a plain rockwool block and see what you get.
If you look around in the right places you will find the info you require. Whilst looking at other sites i visit i came across many interesting articles about moroccan hash and other hashes.

TBH these people know what there doing as its been there job for 100s of years so for us to question there weed expertise is pointless.
Enjoy and remember there is lots of info out there just have a mooch around
