Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory Forums

I am curious. Here in the states, the college basketball tournament will begin while I am in Amsterdam. I was just wondering if this is televised in Amsterdam, and more specifically, is there a coffee shop(s) that would potentially be playing this on the tube? I know I can check ESPN when I get back to the hotel in the evening, but it would be nice to see how the tournament is coming along while puffing a monster joint

I'd doubt it very much but check out places like the Sports cafe on the Leidseplein.

oh, that will be a hard one, but try out the usual sport cafes and just ask if they could show it. the thing is, basketball is big in europe, but the american college league has never been broadcasted as big, your only chance will be to ask around in the cafes.....

Yeah I would ask. They can change the channel for ya. I've had it done before.

Go to Cocos Outback on the Rembrandtplein. They have a lot of televisions and are usually very happy to tune one in to whatever sports event you like to watch.They have happy hour drinks twice a day(2 for 1) And they have a smoking room where you can burn your herb no problem.

And while you are in the area,go about a block away to Stix coffeeshop. A very nice shop that has one of my favorite hashes,Nepalese Temple Ball

Same, although BB does have its fans, its in no way as big as football or even rugby in europe. Perhaps you should try and watch these type of sports while your over here, expand your horizons a bit man. Just get someone to Teebo the BB matches.

I am looking forward to expanding my horizons and absolutely love rugby. The thing is, when money is riding on the NCAA tourney, and the outcome of certain games can be reason for great celebration, I would love to check up now and again.

The NCAA tourny is one of the best sporting events of the year. Unfortunetly, you will see about as much American B'ball in Europe on TV as we see rugby in the US. Bring the laptop and find a WiFi hotspot, there are several if your lodgings don't provide, so you can get updates and scores.

Otherwise you will be watching Futball, aka soccer to us Americans, snooker, handball (not the same as US handball), volley ball etc.

Some of the best times I've had in A'dam were watching Futball in smoking bars with Brits. I didn't know a fiucking thing of what they were talking about but their passion for the sport is unreal!!!! There's nothing to compare to it in the US.
