It may just be self promotion but I'm told the original Haze strain was from Arjan at Greenhouse Seed's who also developed Super Silver Haze.

Perhaps I'm wrong but wouldn't the people who developed the original strain be the manufacturers of the best Haze verieties available?

I was planning on heading to Greenhouse early when I'm next there to work through their Haze menu.

Nor did Arjan "create" the original Haze, neither did he develope the SSH.
Its sad that the original Haze was a corporation of American and European (mostly dutch..?) growers.
I dont know who developed the original SSH, but it definitely wasnt Arjan (at least from the information on the internet, if Arjan would come and tell me face to face he did, I would consider believing him )

Well then he's a liar because he's on You Tube growing a SSH plant over 16 weeks and early in the video he claims that he developed the strain and that it is the bench mark for all Haze crosses. Check it out.

He also claims that the plant is ideal for indoor growing due to it's size (the plant he's stood next to is over 6 feet tall!!!).

It seems to me the original Haze strain is becoming lost as genetics are crossed to achieve stronger highs and better taste. In a way it puts me off the strain as you may as well buy something from your local dealer with no particular characteristics to define it from all the other breeds out there.

I don't think Haze is 'lost' it's still grown, from what I understand. It's primarily used for crosses now. Not to practical to grow for selling. I had always assumed Shantibaba created SSH, whilst working with Arjan. Don't know how true that is though.

Can't we just all agree that hazes are superior to all others, and stop speculating about who invented what - it all gets a little tiring listening to the same dribble...

I remember there being a huge debate with everyone who smoked cheese for the first time in the UK - anyone who had smoked it claimed it was a friend of a friend of a friend recurring who had invented the cross but were "keeping the genetics secret/was a skunkII plant variation backcrossed with a Afghan mother/Was an imported indica from India (seed) crossed with a candian clone and made homogenous" - I'm not sayin this shite, its shite I've heard others say... It's just dribble.

Until I see a dvd proving overwhelming evidence of a strains creation - I won't beleive its' original parentage.

I remember there being a post on here, possibly from Boner regarding Shantibba stating his claims to the gentics, although this could of been on the UK420 forum, or i could be wrong.

I was always under the impression that Greehouse did not pocess the orinigal SSH as the genetics were taken away from Ajran when he moved from one grower to another. I cannot for the life of me remember where i heard that, so i would take it with a pinch of salt, as we all know cannabis cause siczophenia, so i could of heard this off my ulter-ego Steve. Who is a mountian man with a passion for bears and shiny things......

theres pages and pages on this debate over on ic mag,everytime its brought up it seems to create quite a storm but the way I see it is only arjan and shantibaba know who created the original and they both claim to of created ssh, so I guess we'l never know. But who cares, go with what you like be it shanti's or arjans.

ok, this might be a bit out of the way, since Sittard isnt a usual destination for you on this board, but coffeeshop Relax in Sittard has some nice Hazes on his menu. there is the Diesel Haze, which is on the menu for at least 4 months now, costs 12€ and is exactly what the name says. the taste is a mix of Diesel and Haze, the effect is a clear strong body-high, one of the best new haze-crosses I have seen so far.
New on the menu is the Silver Haze (no super!), costs 12€ as well and has that sweet smell a silver haze should have. the taste is not as strong as e.g. the SSH from mellow yellow, less sweet but more hazy...but the high of this really is something awesome, you smoke it and feel almost nothing and after a few minutes when you forget about it......BAM! you cant move for a couple of minutes (or at least you dont WANT to ). our private guy told us he is gonna get the silver haze as well so I hope I can get that stuff a bit cheaper in the near future.

i went to the dam for the 4th time in feb an goin again for the 5th in may for my 30th and the 1st place i went to was stones as i heard it was a good place to go.
i wanted some sativa and the 1st on i saw was their own "quahaze"
didnt really put much thought into it i just wanted to smoke something nice and we all know wat haze is usually like and let me tell ya this stuff blew me away, i was lovin it! my brother tripped out sraight away , it hit him like a ton of bricks ! (and freakeed out a little) i finished me pint an went for a walk, this is wen i started to tripp a little and although i am quite familiar with amsterdam i was lost!!! confused as hell and everything appeared sooo bright . i am an experienced smoker but this stuff was a complete mind f#@! !! it tasted nice too.
im sure there is better out there for each indervidual but i would recommend this stuff for anyone who just wants to go there an looooose their freakin mind!![/quote]

oh yeah just 4 the record i usually prefer a nice mellow smoke and thats wat i was gonna set out to find but after gettin snowed in at the airport TWICE and spendin £350 on a holiday i never had understandably i just was happy t get there and gettt hhhiiiigggghhhhh!!!!!!
