From personal experience, any potent weed will help with nausea, but I was smoking northern lights which if I remember is part indica and part afghanny. I'm a big advocate for medical marijuana, but I must admit, there were some days you can't even lift your head out of the toilet bowl to take a toke.

Then again, there were days I couldn't raise my head out of the bed while in the hospital. After using all my energy to get outside and smoking one, I was able to sit up on the bed and have a conversation. Weed (and my future wife) was a savior.schererbuzz wrote:From personal experience, any potent weed will help with nausea, but I was smoking northern lights which if I remember is part indica and part afghanny. Sativas are very good at helping to keep food down and combating sickness. Indicas are good for inducing sleep and numbing consistent pain.
http://www.ccguide.org.uk/medical.php - a good site for experimental evidence and advice sectioned according to illness.
http://www.medicalmarijuana.org/html/faq.html I have been told contacting these guys, dutch company, results on fantastic information regarding the use of cannabis for illness.
http://www.skunked.co.uk/articles/medi ... ijuana.htm Another good site, albeit breifer than CCguide, sectioning off information into specfic illness's
http://www.sanfranciscocannabisclubs.c ... ations.htm - listing of medical cannabis groups in America, contact these for useful info.
http://www.lca-uk.org/?q=contact contact the LCA they have alot of people who are medical users as part of their organisation so are very well put to provide info on any medical cannabis issues.
Hope this helps.
Peace.

Defeating evil with a thing called love
I dont want to compare my experience to cancer but Id like to share anyway. I got severe food poisoning last week from some bad dairy. I was throwing up all night last Wednesday and hadnt eaten solid food for 2 days when I decided to go to my bros and smoke. He got some unknown Sativa and I smoked a few bowls and was able to eat a small steak dinner and keep it down. It got rid of my headache too. I was very surprised at its effectiveness.

This will be up to your preferences and your particular constitution.
For for analgesia, you are, typically, looking for weeds with higher CBD levels.
Indicas, typically, have reasonably good CBD levels for this purpose. However, many hybrids exist, so it might not be as clear a distinction as between indica/sativa.
For appetite, and/or nausea, you will. likewise, have to experiment. Usually, a pretty strong grass of any leaning (sativa or indica) should suffice. Again, this will be your personal preference. Some people find that satyivas tend to wind them up (and this might exacerbate your nausea, and/or might not stimulate your appetite.)
I would recommend that you discuss this with your physician(s). They may or may not be able to advise you, but, no matter what, they should be aware of all medications you are taking.
Really, even if they disapprove (although any good physician, should be understanding, if not approving of cannabis for this purpose) you MUST apprise them of your cannabis consumption so that they can more fully treat you. Also, there may be some, rare, cases where it may be contra-indicated.
By the way the "UBC Chemo" weed was a more heavy indica hybrid, but it acquired its name, not through medical use, but, rather as a marketing tool of the street level dealers.

you could also check out the breeders homepages, some of them have an extra section for medical strains, like Nirvana does: http://www.nirvana-shop.com/seeds-medic ... -24_9.html
I remember reading about the dutch medical marihuana, which was basically Jack Herrer sold in the pharmacy.

What Nirvana is that? Have you ordered from them before?sh@dy wrote:you could also check out the breeders homepages, some of them have an extra section for medical strains, like Nirvana does: http://www.nirvana-shop.com/seeds-medic ... -24_9.html.
I havent actually ordered from their shop, but I ordered some of their seeds on www.samenwahl.com and the seeds were very nice. Nirvana is very wide-spread here in Germany, never heard anything bad about them so ordering from their site should be safe.
