Admittidly, not the best thing to do while stoned, though I was and found it quite trippy, and as far from Amsterdam as ya can go south. But the whole area of Limburg is probably the best looking scenic wise, they've got hills...nearly big hills!. Plus the Gulpener brewery is down there too.

DC, that looks awesome, I wonder if I can convince the wife to do it, I could even just go for the scooter and stick her on the back.

haarlem
the hague
albert market
heinekin brewery (plus other ones we can find)
redlight district for a sex show or threesome (kidding)
1 day smoke crawl 8am-whenever
anne frank house
Anne Frank Huis is simple to do - get there before 0830. The tourists are everywhere, and you'll be staring at a 2+hour lineup if you don't. By the time we left at 10:30, there was maybe 500 people in queue.

VanGogh's epic - the Rijks is a mess due to renos, but the Vermeer room makes up for it all. But some ppl don't go for art or museums. Know your preferences.

I prefer to pick less things to do, and do them well as opposed to quantity.

There is a casino there too, near the Heineken. You'll need a passport to get in, and it is euro gambing - which is quite different from North America - for those familiar with Las Vegas, this casino ain't. I thought it was worth 20e tossed at chance, and a different vibe.

The sex shows are odd on the face of it, but I know some ppl (and women) who have gone. For me, who wants to get wound up without the missus around?

But, the RLD is a great place to kick back and people watch.

Almost forgot - being Canadian, I like beer. Especially tasty Belgian & Dutch beer.
Up Niewmarkret near Coffeeshop Ben, there's a belgian beer pub - small - but has like 50 different beers. Don't miss it, called 'Gollem'.

And Wynand Focking -unless you go here - you ain't been to A-dam.

Here's some other spots:

I went to artis on my trip last month. Pretty cool but a little pricey. The versetzmuseum was the best museum we went to. Tons of interactive little exhibits. The zoo is fun high. Check out the little beavers trying to climb the stairs, hilarious.

one thing i never got to do last month was the new xtra cold ice bar on amstel. tried it on our last day at about 1pm but they didn't open til 2.
-8degrees in there, they give you some thermal gear and let you in for half a hour. apparently, everything is made of ice, the bar, your glass etc.
thinkin it might be better in the summer tho, steppin off the amstel on a warm lazy day and walkin into that looks like fun. anyone been?
In response to the earlier posts, heiney experience was poor, not that much to see or do, the beer ride thingy being the only highlight imo. not a patch on the guinness storehouse over here. try it sometime, and gimme a shout and i'll get ya stoned afterwards.

Seeing that the wife will be with me for the 420 trip and is a non-smoker I might suggest we do it one of our spare days, she mentioned the Tulip fields as well but I dont know if I can be bothered with the extra travelling especially as we'll be there for such a short trip but it is something I'd like to see, maybe.

I think the thread of what Twicth was trying to do has been lost. Let's try and get back on track.

Everyone name a tourist thing they would like to do. We compile a list of the top 5 and make them into a group excursion. You do not have to come along with the group if you do not want, if you want to visit somewhere privately with a loved one, just make a note of when the group is going and go another time.

Also the reason I suggest 5 is constraints of trying to arrange any more than that. If you want to arrange secondary extra group trips, that would be fine.

Twitch, if you update your first post to reflect the thread and add the names as they are suggested, keeping a tally. We'll put a deadline of Monday 23rd March 8pm Amsterdam time ;) for the suggestions. We'll compile the list afterwards.

I'll put forward my suggestion - Tulip Fields

Thanks Soul Rider
Would like to go to:
Van Gogh exhibit
Escher museum
Kukenhof Gardens

We are there for nine days so these things can be done at different times, different days different people, what ever.
This is my daughters first time there, and although Ms t and I have seen these things already ( except escher ) would like to her to see also.
