Last month, I emailed them with a question. After days of no reply, I sent a second email. A few more days, and got a reply.

So I'm now two weeks until departure. I emailed on the 10th with some final questions - no reply. I then emailed again on the 17th, asking for the courtesy of a reply to my questions. Still no answer as of today.

I hate to be paranoid, but none of this makes me feel too confident about a smooth rental. I just can't fathom why the complete lack of reply - yet I don't want to seem "pushy" prior to check-in.

I am renting through Amsterdam City Apartments, in case there is anyone with experience with them.

So....any thoughts? :?

I had a similar situation with City Mundo, only I was just confirming shortly before my arrival (which I recommend to everyone, no matter the accommodation) and they wouldn't respond to my emails. Turns out they have multiple email addies.

The site looks legit and the Dutch aren't very good at replying to emails, like Geoff said give them a ring, the cost of the call will put your mind at ease.

I rented an apartment last trip from somewhere else and could not get a reply by e-mail. I left it until i got out there and thought i had been ripped off coz the phone numbers did not work. Had to ring home to get my Girlfriend to sort it from her end. Total nightmare but sorted in the end.

We've rented from them in the past.
They are a broker who represent private owners, and once the original down-payment has been made it is in the hands of the owner more or less.
As long as they have made arrangements to get the rest of your payment and exchange keys I wouldn't worry, and even if they haven't they are a reputable company so I wouldn't panic.
I seem to recall we waited awhile before hearing from them also.

We booked through them as well for our first week. I was worried at first... but whatever, if we get ripped off we get ripped off. that's why you pay by visa or paypal to track it.

I do have a question about one of their confirmation emails. it reads:

> 1. Can you please bring a copy of the passport's identification pages from all members of your party!

Seriously? WTF do I need to give a copy of my passport to someone I don't know just to rent an apartment that will be prepaid entirely on arrival?

Oh, and here's the website's list address location on google maps, including a link to the street level view. we'll kick down the doors if they rip us off, lol
