Noob Report

Post by evergrey1968 »

Hi folks - just a wee newbie report from last week.

Although i've been to amsterdam many times, this was the first time i'd visited any coffeeshops.

I was off to the south of the netherlands to see some gigs over a weekend, so this was strictly a buy and fly operation, had worked out what I wanted to get before hand and where i needed to go.

I visited :

Mellow Yellow (2g blueberry)
420 De Kuil (1g NYCD)
Greenhouse Effect. (1g Northern Lights, 1g Thai)

Have to say that i was impressed with them all, have read some real horror stories on here about rude staff etc but everyone i spoke to was pleasant and helpful. The budtender in greenhouse effect was a little distracted but he had a group of about 6 'tourists' hanging around who were getting a little bit 'enthusiastic' but other than that he was perfectly nice.

The only other thing I couldn't believe was the smell - I stashed everything in a tin and put it in my jacket but it was really honking. Got on the train and could really smell it. Thought everyone was looking at me :-)

Only sampled the Thai and the Northern Lights so far, as I've said elsewhere, am not an experienced smoker so it was quite funny, although was with a friend who is.

Tried the Thai and didn't think it was having any effect and then just out of nowhere couldn't stop giggling :-)

Same thing with the Northern Lights, except my friend had a book of photos of tornadoes with him and I can distinctly remember (after another fit of the giggles) looking at a couple of the pictures for about 10 minutes each.

We didn't get a chance to try the blueberry or the NYCD unfortunately, I've left them with my other half though, so will get through them soon :-)

Just also want to say thanks to everyone on here for their advice and help as I doubt I would have had as positive a first time experience if it wasn't for you guys.

Please share your thoughts on this... very interested on a light smokers' opinion.

My wife will be with me and although she smokes when I smoke, it's usually only a puff or two.

Thanks

TC, try the White Melon if Mellow Yellow have it, lovely taste and not too strong (quite cheap as well).

white melon

Had the white melon at the Noon in October and I remember it having a nice taste(fruity), and a nice buzz. If i recall correctly its cheaper than the white widow and better all around.
