Feedback Appeciated On My Smoker's Itinerary

Post by FenixNYC »

A little under 3 weeks to go and think I've done as much research as possible these past 2 months. While I know once I get there and smoke my first 'Dam bud this whole thing may go out the window, I'm really hoping to try alot of these strains and visit these shops. I know Greenhouse isn't rated way too highly on the board but I really wanna check 'em out due to the nice menu & Super Lemon Haze. If you know of a better shop to get a certain strain, or recommend other shops drop some feed.

Anyway, critique away.....

Top Coffeeshops: Grey Area, Dampkring, Mellow Yellow, Amnesia, Greenhouse Lounge, 420 Cafe: de Kuil, Green Place, Rokerij (I & III), Homegrown Fantasy, Basjoe, Katsu, Barney's Lounge, Popeye, Picasso, Conscious Dreams (Headshop)

Hill Street Blues & Old Church - Chill environment, weak smokes!

Shitty Shops/Tourist Traps: Bulldog, Grasshopper, Bushdoctor, Dutch Flowers, Rastababy, Kadinsky, La Canna, Noon, Paradise, Smokey, Rockland, Saint

Top Smokes:

Super Lemon Haze, Hawaiian Snow, Alaskan Ice (Greenhouse)

Silver Bubble, Equatorial, Sleestack, Cannalope Haze, Yellow Cab, Grey Berry, Chiesel (Grey Area),

Grape, Chocolope, Lavender, LA Confidental, Fruitcake Haze, Ocean's Twelve Haze (Dampkring),

Blueberry, Super Silver Haze, Bubblegum Haze, Neville's Haze (Mellow Yellow)

Amnesia Lemon, Pink Kush, LSD, Amnesia Haze, Sweet Tooth (Amnesia) (Best Milkshakes!)

Blueberry, 420 Kush, NYCD, Super Silver Haze (420 deKuil)

Purple Kush, LA Confidental, Chocolope, Blue Cheese (Green Place)

Cheese (Homegrown Fantasy) (Best Cheese & toilet in 'Dam!)

Crimea Blue, Red Diesel, Quazar Haze, Honey B (Barney's)

Mango Haze, Pink Kush (Popeye)

Black Widow (Katsu) (Original White Widow!)

Orange Bud (Basjoe)

White Cheese (Old Amsterdam)

Apple Jack (Abraxas)

Good Hash: Terminator, Caramello (Stix or 420), Ice-O-Lators, Rifman, King Hassan, Nepal Temple Ball, Golden Soles

Food: The Pancake Bakery, Barney's Breakfast Bar & Popeye (Barney's/Popeye smoker friendly)

I'd also like to thank a bunch of the members here such as Boner, SoulRider, Kermit, sh@dy, as well as a few others, as I gained alot of info from you guys and feel I'm really prepared to do this trip right. When you're probably only gonna make it over there once in your life you gotta do it perfect, down to the last gram, for your 1st and only trip to Mecca.

cant really knock that research youve made there....

good effort.

i would say however, greenhouse does tend to get a negative review on here, but i think thats maily based on the prices and in some cases the service. the weed itself is often good so your right to wanna try their lemon haze etc...

i often come on here in bulldogs defence too, and ill give you my argument too;
although i once had a fantastic amnesia haze from there, i agree its not a place to buy weed, bring it with you. but the bulldogs can provide a decent change of pace if you need it. i alwys break up the day of smoking with regular pub visits and in the evening bar visits. keeps me goign longer i feel. changes of pace and atmoshpere. the bulldog (leidseplein) provides a lively clubby bar atmosphere which in my opinion can be good fun in the evening. and the bulldogs in the RLD, provide a decent enough sometimes lively pub experience for the day time.
totally agree its not everyones cup of tea, and i can understand why.

kadinsky i like too, i wouldnt have put it in my list of shitty shops, its not the best but ive happily frequented it a few times.

just make sure you do the rokerijs... love those places. resonable weed amazing shops.
and 420 aswell, great weed and a lovely café feel to the place.
and you must purchase some from Homegrown Fantasy, they consistanly have great weed.
and dont froget green place has great offers on 5g's of the old skool strains

have a quality trip :D

I'm hoping to get to the original Rokerij as I heard the atmosphere is the best of the 4. I like the dark, relaxed vibe more, as opposed to bright & loud.

And seeing how we're staying not far from both shops, I'm anticipating HGF or 420 being our first stop upon check in.

Great list, with a ton of shops to see and plenty of weed to try. But the one coffeeshop you should rethink about is the Noon. I stayed a few times at Rookies/Uptown Hotel and the Noon was right up the street. Hit that shop 2 or 3 times each visit. The Blueberry was very good and the Budtender was a decent guy. Worth a look in my opinion.

Im not a fan of The Greenhouse, i found the staff to be rude in all shops (havent visited the Original on Tolstraat yet). But as CSS says the smoke is nice and to be fair the prices arent bad. A buy and fly shop for me.

I would rather go to Mellow Yellow and pay the extra 2 Euros for my 4g of Blueberry rather than go to Noon.

Tweedy Kamer is a nice little shop, same weeds as Dampkring, and lastly, the NYDC from De Kuil is of the best in Dam....

Some great research tho Fenix, cya at 4/20 dude, not to long now,

Nice List :D

I'm back out to Amsterdam in less than two weeks, and my shopping and visiting list is surprisingly similar.

Two other places which have a great (ie friendly and relaxed) atmosphere and quality smoke at reasonable prices are Paradox and Katsu.

Sadly I think that Homegrown Fantasy is due to close down in the next few days. If its still open when youre there, then ask for their Amazing Haze, its outstanding.

HAVE A GREAT TIME

lots on the agenda there FenixNYC! hope you make it through your list.. also remember sometimes a random can turn out to be killer as well. so still look at other strains on the menu too. i have gone to a shop before and the strain everyone was talking great things about was just plain awful.. now my conclusion on that was it was just a bad batch... but i ddint look at anything else and just ordered this strain without looking.. bad idea.

also i have also had great experiences with the new noon. the bb is good and i have also stayed there a few times and felt welcomed. the budtender was quite talkitive. i have also been there when it was busy with locals and i didnt feel quite welcomed with everyone talking loudy and the whole place in on the same conversation in another language i did not understand. but i would not put it up there with the other do not goto shops.

cheers man and have a good trip!!

I thought it was staying open through the year, or through next March?

That sucks, definitely wanted to check out the Cheese & the bathroom.

Ahhh yes, 420's NYCD.

Speaking of Diesel, anyone know of any shops who have some good Sour?

I know Hunter's has on it's menu and it's not far from my hotel, any good?

Glad to see you like Liquid Swords too. Classic album. One of the best album intros, ever.

Liquid Swords is my one of the best albums ever made, to me only Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent by Design comes close to LS!!!

For Sour D, Rockerij had a nice batch when i was there in Feb.....

What other hip hop you into, not to many real Hip Hop heads on this forum?
