I’m a bit concerned that we may have a problem here. I believe Hestia is relying on the
St. Nicolaas Boat Club. This is a public trip so there is no guarantee that we’ll have it to ourselves. We don’t even know whether they will be running a boat on Monday evening (or Saturday afternoon for that matter). Even if we do manage to monopolise the trip, I think there will be too many of us to fit on their little boat.
The St. Nic crew are a bit elusive so we can’t book a boat (or better still, two boats) in advance. Even when Hestia signs us all up in the visitor’s book in the Boom Chicago bar, she may not be able to speak to anyone from the club to explain what we’re trying to do. Once they find 20 or so people signed up for Monday they may not be able to let Hestia know whether that’s going to be possible.
Sorry to be negative but we need to be realistic about the prospects. I hope it works out but we should be prepared for the fact that it might not.

We waited at Boom Chicago and spoke to captain Ingrid she set up the monday tour especially for us.

we have the whole boat, 11 people max. on Monday it starts at 8, be there at 7:50 or earlier to get a seat. remember only the first 11 of us will fit.
So everybody, it's all set up, lets go party. Feed back requested.

Excellent work Hestia ! I’ll follow this up in Travel Plans.
I think around 14 of us expressed an interest in Monday evening (and about 6 for Saturday afternoon). A whole boat for 11 should be enough as we’re bound to loose a few by natural wastage (that is, some of us will probably be too wasted to leave Nes!) We need to meet the boat captain at the bar in Boom Chicago but, presumably, we’ll all be in the Nes around 7:30 so can walk down to the Leidseplein together. It wouldn’t surprise me if there are fewer than 11 of us setting off so we may be asking if anyone else wants to join us.
I think we need a pirate flag for this boat. Maybe the Vikings have something for the prow. OK, I’m stoned

As I said before, I’d be up for a stop in Dolphins basement on the way back to join the others in the Nes if anyone would like to join me. And, if there are too many people, I’ll drop out and wait for you in Dolphins because I’ve done the boat trip before.
Just found this weather forecast:

Sat Apr 18: cloudy, max 15°C min 7°C, 10% chance of rain
Sun Apr 19: partly cloudy, max 16°C min 7°C, 20% chance of rain
Mon Apr 20: partly cloudy, max 15°C min 7°C, 0% chance of rain

Lookin good for monday then

.
If there's an excess of tokers for the boat trip, I won't put up a fight

. I'm sure there's a suitable way to draw straws. Anyone up for chess?
True though that there's a high chance many wont make it due to "natural wastage"

Sounds like a great idea, have always wanted to give St Niks a go. Saturdays best for me but can always catch up with you all at the Nes if Monday turns out to be best day for pot-tering (sorry) about in boats. Who is going to get down to the Boom to book the boat?

Doh! just read the time stamps. Bit late to get on the boat, so I guess I will catch up with whoever is left at the Nes meet.

Saturday may well still be available if you can get to Boom Chicago bar soon. When do you get into Amsterdam?

Lemming: I get into Holland on Friday night, and can hook up anytime on Saturday. Am staying near Beverwijk or I would meet you on Friday.

You need to get to Boom Chicago a.s.a.p. There’s a book in the bar there that you need to sign to book your place.
