Keukenhof

Post by Ignatius »

Visiting Keukenhof for the first time. Wondering if anyone has any tips about getting there or what to see, etc? Planning on buying the bus/entrance ticket ahead of time but wasn't sure if was a shorter travel time taking the train to Schipol and taking the train to Leiden and grabbing the bus from there ?

Of course any suggestions regarding coffee shops to visit or places to smoke would also be appreciated. ACD notes a Happy Days CS near the garden but wasn't sure how accessible it would be on foot.

Thanks in advance

Visited last spring. Took the Connexxion bus from Schiphol. Didn't stop at any coffeeshops though. Fired one up in the parking lot after getting off the bus and before getting back on.

Did much the same, but I also went down by a little water way in the gardens and just smoked one.
Wasn't very busy, and other than a Dutch guy taking a piss in the bushes no one was around.
Great place to visit, really enjoyed it.

Take the train or bus to Leiden, from there they have a bus that takes you to the main entrance to Keukenhof. When I went in 06 i bought the bus/entrance ticket from Haarlem and the bus from Haarlem stops at least 1-1.5 km from the main entrance to Keukenhof.
I smoked joints in a few quiet out of the way places in the gardens. It takes a whole day to see everything, it is amazing I took at least 100 pics there. Have fun.
