Hard to tell with brick weed, but more than likely it is Columbian. The Mexican brickweed is crap, its a weak indica, and yeah... StonedSince'67 and I speak the same language it seems. I am a lil younger, but not much, but I am from the no-hybrid landrace weed era. I remember in the mid-late 70s when anything purple was almost worshipped. I remember a weed from Sri Lanka, then Ceylon called elephant, or white elephant, something like that. Of course the wonderful Thaistick from that era was coveted and disappeared from this area from about 75 thru 82, then many exotic imports showed up.
The point of the older days, outdoor weed nostalgia is that during that time, it was next to impossible for an individual in the wrong geo-climactic conditions to grow. Homegrown used to mean one thing only...HEADACHE.
So sometimes, especially after a dry spell, a good quarter pound arriving and being divided was a sacred event. It also meant one bad thing, we were always one big bust away from a very long dry spell, and the inevitable price increase that followed.
Thanks for stoking some memories, StonedSince'67....and heres a question, during the 70s, did you ever encounter Black Bud?
Since Ive drifted off topic, I will agree with Thai, but as I have modernized, I vote for my strain...Grape Jelly, but I am loving the Sour D thats been coming in.
You need to get a better source dude. All the brick that comes through here from Mejico is a nice skunky Sativa. Too many stems maybe, but not seedy.
Those sources have long since been abandoned, just a historical footnote. There is always a surprise brickweed, but not at a good enough ratio to screw with buying and hoping...yes some is good, and when there's been nothing else, Ive found good amongst the garbage, but I wont actively seek it.

Yeah I agree with you bud. I've no problem obtaining brickweed but normally keep my expectations low. Makes for a nice pillow for some quality hash though, so it has its place.

Good Thai buds and outdoor buds is not brick weed. There is a huge difference. Get down to Yo-Yo to see what proper outdoor is.

That's a very good point, Titus. I should clarify my buys, which may help with how I regard different types of cannabis.
With weed, I try to never buy less than an oz at a time....I don't like running out. That is about 2x monthly
Hash....Usually buy 12 -16 gms, same reason, hopefully same frequency (sometimes disappears)
Opium...A rarity...very rare, so no less than an oz of it if available, then usually smoke ever so often till its gone, then wait another year.
Because of those factors, especially the quantities, I just skip on brick. The last time I bought it, I bought a QP, and have never regretted anything more (yes I know it was my own stupid fault) I bet on the lucky brick and lost. It was bad enough that I couldn't make myself look forward to smoking it at all. It makes you hack like hell to the point you couldnt smoke enough to get high. Maybe I should have made hash...owell, I lost on that toss. Took me 2 months to dispose of it, and only when jonesing.
I spend the extra money to get the nicey nice now, and I buy in such quantities that by the time im 2/3 thru my supply, im re-ordering to keep the shelves stocked. I'm praying the same holds true with my hash market now.

drugs are all fun and good until your pet eats a gram of salvia... now that's a hefty vet bill.

lol, my cat has a bad habit of sitting in the wrong place at the exact wrong time when i'm smoking. its a pain in the ass when she walks into a big exhale. she runs in circles for hours and knocks over everything. i think she likes it because she seems to do it on purpose. but i still dont like dealing with it though, especially since it means im trying to enjoy my high.
