volcano and other vaporizers- I'm confused

So how does this work exactly? How much weed is necessary to fill a bag? Do I just give them something to burn? As someone who has exercise induced asthma I would sure like to try this but don't want to be taken as a dumb newbie. I also don't want to waste a lot since it seems they can only fill one bag, right?!

the one time i used a volcano, we managed to get 2 1/2 bags out of what would have been a fat bongload. it works by heating the weed so the THC vaporizes without burning the rest of the plant matter into smoke, since THC leaves the weed at a lower temperature than fire.

i have heard that in amsterdam you only get one bags worth since the employees of the place run the machine and i guess just toss out whats left even though you could still keep heating it. (or they puff it after you leave

The amout of weed you use for a vaporizer depends on the size of the bag. Shops like the 420 Cafe use the bigger bags. I use about a .25 gram per load. For smaller bags use less. As with most things in coffeeshops, when in doubt ask the budtender. Unfortunetly coffeeshops are usually too busy to do re-burns so you won't get the cost savings that vaporizing affords. Vaporizing is usually free but I always tip the budtender for the service. I'm not sure how they feel about vaping weed from another CS. I've always purchased some gear from the shop that vaporized for me. You'll find the hits are very easy on your lungs. Enjoy!!!!!

Great. That is exactly the advice I was looking for. Being a newbie if they said to hand over a whole gram I would. Duh. Now I'm just concerned about what smoking .25g of strong stuff will do to someone who has been away from this for quite some time.

First, don't start out on the high priced weeds on the menu. They can knock you on your ass if you are not used to them. Don't be shy about telling the budtender you're new to this. They will help you select the right gear. If you are worried about overdoing it use less that .25 g. If you do over do it a little the staff at the CS will help you out. As you get your feet wet and learn your tolerance you can move on to the high end product. Relax and enjoy.

I guess it is not cool to ask them to vape something from another place, huh?? I went a bit mad yesterday and have way more than I can ever finish in the next two days.
