there are many CS where the budtender is exactly like the one you have at home......e.g. bushdoctor

Mellow Yellows menu is without flash...are there people who need another menu?

I think i will take some new pics if im allowed at the CS i am at

and if you remember, my last trip i planned to take plenty pics of menu's and ended up takin none, forgot to even grab my camera some days ha!

Cant quite work out why but my memory wasnt on top form while there :p

That's something I was actually curious about. Is it the norm for people to wanna take flix of the menus? Would like to get shots in as many shops as I hit for FBN's menu site but don't wanna piss off a budtender.

Just ask man, worse they can say is no. At least you asked man, im sure theyll be alot less pissed off if you dont that rather than just whack your camara out and take a pic without asking.

The etiquit of taking pictures in coffeeshops.
Especially menus.

Most shops will let you take pix to your hearts content, a few don't
even care about videos.

ALWAYS ask first. It's always at the option of the bud tender, so if
one won't let you, go back on another shift and that one might let you.
Be persistant.

Generally, try to keep people out of the background. Some folks don't
want it known that they frequent Amsterdam coffeeshops, I do and I'm
proud but I'm not everybody. Menu pix are short range and don't have
much if any background.

Almost as an afterthought but of primary importance.

Remember, really stoned people don't like flashes of bright light
and most of the folks there are pretty stoned.

Don't use your flash if at all possible. Most digital cameras
will work in pretty low light and software can lighten it up later.

Often the bud tender will move a menu to better light or let you
take it to better light, say to a window with light streaming in.

I post what people send, sometimes I even work a little digital magic on them.
I suggest not using a flash at all.
Most menus are plastic laminated and without a polarizing filter hard to photograph.
I think the degree of stonedness fits into the equation too.

Anna at Softland scanned and emailed their menu to me on the spot.

usually its not a problem to take pictures, the good shops will let you take without problem, like others said, you have to ask the budtender....so far there has only been one coffeeshop in the whole netherlands who said we are not allowed to take a picture and that was coffeeshop Amnesia in Amsterdam....they were so unfriendly and told us only FlyByNite was allowed to take menu pics from them...if I hadnt already bought weed from him 2 minutes before I would have left without buying....

buy a gram from a well respected place like

Dampkring, dont smoke it, so buy another gram

carry it with you...

When you wanna buy / see a weed in a new coffeeshop

ask them nicely can you SEE the XXX please...

in no time you should get a feel for the size if you put the but in the corner, dont choose a strain that has small shitty buds left over, choose something which looks nicer, fresher which is newer!

Any doubts, ask questions, some dickheads give you answers like
"its good" which is not helpful, either walk away or buy something cheap if your in doubt.


I managed to put a few on my new shit list:
STIX, forceful drink sales with my mate

BUSH DR, being unhelpful, not allowing mate to take a seat without buying something even though the other 2 where buying drink n some weed.

One in a side alley 1 road over from Damrak to the left,
Has a fish tank at the back with a fish that trails your finger.
The female bud tender, was pushy, and clueless, i asked about cross strain, and she was useless.... the bag was also the WORST i purchased on my trip at 13euro for silver bubble, was not impressed, Gf liked the decor and the back smoking room, i found the deal, the pricing of drink + service to be that bad, i would not go back even if they implement a bed to chill in. APPAULING SERVICE!!

Katsu - bought a bag after looking bud sadly did not notice that the female budtender exchanged bags, resulting in a less decent quality bag from what i checked prior, was not to pleased as Katsu used to have decent bags.

Also visited De Graal, to get a wave from the window to say come back, could not be bothered, time is money, and i would rather spend my time chilling in a place that is well serviced and cares about the customers.

All in all great holiday, only them lot where let downs, rest all good.

Never buy buds without looking at them first.

I used to be very put off by pre weighed bags, but having looked further out of the centrum and in other cities these seem to be the norm, just inspect well and don't be afraid to open the bag to smell its contents.

I remember once having the girl in Bushdocter look really put out that I didnt want to buy all 3 bags that I'd asked to look at. dumb bitch. You are the customer, and the customer is right... fuck what anyone else says, its capitalism - they want your money, don't hand over a cent until you are 100 percent satisfied with what you are buying, and if they pressure you to hand over cash before seeing the product go somewhere else.
