?! 420 - Changing the destination ?!

After the posting of MH in the 420-thread I thought it was time to talk about this in a seperate thread so everyone sees it.

Today, April 9th 2009, I sat in on a meeting attended by the people putting on the Cannabis freedom day in Amsterdam. The owner of DeKuil the 420 Cafe, Michael Veling was there. In the two hours I listened to him he proceeded to tell us that all cannabis smokers were just money to him and he had no interest in helping in any way shape or form. He went on to say that this event was bad for his coffeeshop and he thought the whole idea was bad. He told us how he discriminated against his customers. He told us he believed organizations like Green Peace and Amnestry Intl were facist. This guy is a physco and has no business being in the cannabis trade. He said over and over he only wanted to exploit you and your money.

I say send him a message and move your meetup to a different coffeeshop. There is just time to make it happen. Home Grown Fantasy, Anyday, Abraxas, Dampkring(Haarlemerstaat), are all of equal size and not hard to find.

hope I am allowed to use it as I know some owners wouldnt be too happy if they knew what you was doing here MH, hope you dont get hurt....

now, do you people want to change the destination for the main-meeting of 420?
like I suggested in another thread, MY is best suited for this meeting, they have big areas and everything...same goes for Dampkring and some other places (I would delete Abraxas from the list, because I have been ripped there with the amount of weed I got different times...)

What do you think?

TBH with you i dont care where it is held although i doubt very much if the venue will be moved and most wont be there that long. I have planned on being at this meet since joining the forum last year. My intention was to have a great time and a enjoyable smoke with the people who will be at 420 especially all the ACD members attending.
I hope the meet dont end up getting split into two groups coz that will just piss me off proper and (IMO) be a wasted holiday for me.

I wont vote coz i am not important to 420 so i will follow the party where ever it goes.

which is wrong. every single one here is imported to the meeting. we should all decide this together so this doesnt end up like you said in two groups. I mean, it wouldnt be too hard for me to go to De Kuil as well, but I just wouldnt feel comfortable spending my money there after MH posted something like this....we have to find a way to do this without splitting the party.

To be perfectly honest I have never felt very welcome at DeKuil.
I feel they short change you on your Volcano bags and can be rather rude to the customers, especially on the times I have been there for 4/20.
Damn I wish Nes were still a coffee shop.
At least I know it's where I will end up after a short time at 4/20, and will most likley spend much more time.

Although i would love the venue to be changed to Mellow Yellow I voted for the meet to stay in De Kuil, reason being that as Lemming said in his post that the tradition of 4/20 was around long before ACD, and as Boner said the whole point really is to be in 420 @ 4;20pm on April 20th. Thank you Mile High for the information regarding De Kuil and their loony owner, but i think your timing to tell us this is bad, everything was set in place and the people from this forum who work hard to run this site and arrange this meet have now had their plans thrown into disaray!!!... I've never had problems in De Kuil and have always found the staff very friendly

Also as far as im concerned all coffeeshops are their to make money and the more the better, if the owner of De Kuil is alittle more blatent than others then so what, lets not drop the meet place, just not stay there aslong as intended and dont spend as much money as expected. cya all there

I am allowed my opinion and i am not important. I could easily not bother turning up but it will still go ahead as the many times it has before without me.
As i also said i rarely visit the shop and will probably be there an hour max before moving on to another place. If the venue is moved then so be it, i will be more than happy to go to whatever CS its at.
But doubt MY will be suitable, having to go outside to smoke a spliff is a not good.

Yeh man I got short changed until SR had a word with them. Besides that, it's a nice place with good smokes regardless of the owner. I'm being swayed towards voting for no change, but still sitting on the fence!

Have it there as it is a tradition and then move on to Nes is my vote.
And yes Kermit you are allowed your opinion, just can't figure out why you don't think you're important.
We're all important, if not to the business then to the smokers community in general.

With serious thought I suggest keeping it there because of the short notice. No reason to spend much there and no reason not to move on quickly. Anyone up for a bike tour earlier in the day let me know. I will be sure to be done well before 420.

Except for the bike tour that was my plan anyway.
Just move on to Nes afterwords, which is also part of the tradition for many of us.
