Planning My First Trip!!!

Post by Federer »

Hello everyone,

I am currently planning my first trip to the ‘dam and after lots of reading I have started to form an idea of places and coffee shops I want to visit, things I want to do, strains I want to try.

At the moment I am going solo, however lots of friends and a few family members have showed an interest in joining me so we’ll see what happens nearer the time.

Im planning on going around the second weekend in june, which brings me to my first question, Am I better to go at a weekend or would I still have a good time mid week?, flights and accommodation are slightly cheaper mid week I have found and as I’m university student money is always tight.

Ill start with where im planning on staying, either the flying pig or the Winston, any opinions on these?

Another pipleline idea is if I can get three mates that are deff up for going then I might drive and will probably camp. Not sure yet.

I have made a list of few coffee shops I would like to visit after reading various peoples opinions and about some of their experiences.
(In no particular order)

Abraxas
Rokerij
Green Place
The Grey Area
Mellow Yellow
Rasta Baby
Blues Brothers - (Mainly for a photo because its my favourite film (I know there is nothing apart from the name that related to the film) and although people seem to say its not a very good CS id like to go just to say I have and form my own opinion)

I know some of these have received some negative reviews but something about them appealed to me, still looking advice on shops I haven’t mentioned and any thoughts on the ones I have.

Whilst in the various coffee shops I’d like to try these strains:

Chocoloupe
LA Confidential
Purple Kush
Laughing Buddah
Jack Herrer
Super Silver Haze
Lavender
Amnesia Haze
Blueberry
Mellow Berry
Cheese - on liquidSwords recommendation (cheers)

I’m looking for a variety of different types, some indica, some sativa. Some to make me buzz and some to feel chilled. I often find that the smoke I get over here is a very sleepy stone, feels ace but whilst I’m there id like to be up and buzzing like some of the smoke iv got occasionally.

Im also looking for some cheaper strains so I can smoke a lot but with occasionally special stand out buds?

Also whilst in the ‘dam I want to try some proper hash, over here its always horrible and id like to experience what its really like.

You guys got any feedback on my chosen strains, ones to avoid, ones to seek out? Also where I can find some good hash.

On my wanderings I also play to try a vaporizer so any tips on that is also greatly received.

One of my main concerns is that iv only ever smoke weed pure once, it was great but I was very very high but quickly crashed out, I want to be able to enjoy my time and not get to wasted to early on. Hoping people wont frown if I smoke a mix of tobacco and bud occasionally.

Whilst In the ‘dam id also like to see if I can make it to the Van Gough Museum, like to see what I think whilst im high, the Hash Marihuana Hemp Museum and or the Cannabis College.

I’m going to see if I can ride a bike whilst high and if I can then id be very interested in one of the ganja tours if not, I will try and make it to one of the walking ones.

If any of you guys made it to then end of that essay then thanks very much, let me know if there is anything I have missed / forgotten. Must see’s, Must Avoids, etc etc

Cheers
Take it easy, Federer
:D

To me the Cheese strain defines what herb should look taste and feel like :D, normally a light coloured green, tastes unique, almost rich in flavour and it pongs like crazy, and to e its just mellows you out and gives you a nice stoned moment without feeling sleepy urban legend tells us that Cheese is an English founded strain :D

Apart from Homegrown Fantasy, Damrkring and Mellow Yellow do nice Cheese, aswell as Barneys Blue Cheese, Greys Area's Chizel (sp) and Old Amsterdam's new White Cheese :D :D

http://www.black-arts.org/~reatta/menus.html, FlybyNite's menu's page is a good place to start,

The prices for Cheese is around 11euros for a gram, Blue Cheese, White Cheese and Chezil (sp) are around 12euros per gram

Ya gots to try the Cheese. I'm wondering how that Purple Kush compares to the local sample I got, it was quite good. I'm guessing it's from Greenplace.

I just read tbk420's report and it was at Green Place. I'd check that shop for sure. As far as Cheese goes, I've had it from Mellow Yellow and Katsu, but HGF seems to be the place and I have no reason to doubt that. Be prepared for some of your wish list to be out of stock, as menus change frequently.

i prefer going during the week as it is always that little bit quieter, so the coffeeshops are a little more easy to get in to.Same with the resturants.

I might look into going mid week then, save a bit on flights and accommodation and spend more on the smoke then. Although i like busy places id quite like to be able to get a seat in the coffeeshops.

i also prefer going during the week, no stag parties and its more chilled. for hash i would recomend going to central cs & getting whatever morocan is first kif & fresh. they sell in 12.5e small bags & 25e big bags, they always got 1.5grams small bag category which i find is usually as good as u can get from any of the dearer shops (e.g rifman from tweed)
