as one suggestion ...
a visit to the
De Pijp area and the
Albert Cuyp market could include a visit to
Yo-Yo
this coffeeshop is light and airy with high ceilings and in my experience a pleasant visit for everyone, i love it because for me it has a real 60s feel
and imo the apple dessert is one of the best in town

if you like gardens, then a visit to the
Hortus Botanicus should be pleasant
and for the smoker a quick visit beforehand to
De Overkant Hortus nearby should result in the right mood for losing oneself in gardens
the shop is small but has large glass windows, if it is sunny and the non-smoker doesn't feel like being inside, they can wait outside and still be in eye contact with the smoker inside
then off to the gardens ...

and after the Hortus Botanicus it is only a 10 minute walk to the coffeeshop
Het Ballonnetje
this friendly place in a quieter university area is one of my favorites as it has outdoor seating for the non-smoker and a good menu for the smoker
a nice place to relax and have a smoke and a coffee or tea and think about the evening plans
