NEWBIE QUESTION, PLEASE HELP!!

Hello all,
I am going to Amsterdam later on in the year and am looking forward to visiting a coffee shop or two (when in Rome........).
However, even though I smoke cannabis every now and again I have never rolled a joint.......never had to, someone has always rolled for me. So I am a little worried about being left to my own devices in Amsterdam when trying to roll a joint (did I mention im cack handed? lol).
Therefore I was wondering whether coffee shops have pre-rolled joints for sale?
Also I understand from various people that there is a tobacco ban in Dam. So does this mean that you are expected to smoke joints that only contain cannabis? and if so how much would you put in a joint?
You can tell that I am a complete newbie can't you....but we all have to start somewhere don't we and I cant think of anywhere better than Dam!!
cheers.

I'm sure you would find all the answers you seek if you take the time to read some of the material on this site. The map detailing the various coffeeshops would be a good starting point.
To answer your questions however, not being able to roll a joint should not pose a problem for you. I've never encountered a coffeeshop which didn't have a bong or a pipe to lend to customers. Headshops selling pipes and other cannabis paraphernalia abound in the city, so you can pick up a cheap pipe (~E5) quite readily and toss it (or donate it to your fave coffeeshop) upon departure. Many coffeeshops are also now equipped with vaporizers which is the most pleasant, painless way to smoke weed imo. You should opt for this route if you can (420 Cafe (de Kuil) is one establishment that springs to mind).
If you're intent on smoking a joint, most coffeeshops have pre-rolled ones for sale. If you're not used to smoking tobacco with your weed, make sure the joint they're selling you is pure. Please note that coffeeshops enjoy a substantial markup on pre-rolleds; it may be simply cheaper to purchase a gram and have a friendly dealer/bartender/customer roll one for you if you ask nicely.
As to how much to put in a joint, that is a matter of personal preference. One gram of ground up bud makes for a nice fat joint. If it's your first time, I would recommend using half that. If you use a pipe, you can more accurately control the amount of weed you consume per bowl.
Enjoy your visit to the Dam.

go buy some papers and some rolling tobacco, figure it out that way.
as for how much, just enough so it ends up almost the width of a cigarette (done the american way, you crazy conical bastards). usually 1/3 of a gram.

Follow these instructions to the letter and you will have a fantastic day.
Go to Grey Area
https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/Grey.html Coffeeshop, and ask the dealer for a gram of his best sativa. Maybe some Cannalope Haze, maybe the Silver Bubble, see what he suggests.
Then walk for to minutes to the Nes Cafe,
https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/NesCafe.html
Buy a soft drink, and ask to use the vaporizer. If you tell the bar staff that it is your first time with a vape they should be able to explain it all.
Or, as mentioned 420 Cafe would be good, maybe their New York City Diesel.

to me the key bits of this message are "
... later on in the year" and "
... never rolled a joint"
rolling a joint is not difficult, it just takes practice
different people roll different joints, you just need to find what works for you
to practice you don't have to have weed, other materials can be used such as tobacco or cooking herbs with a similar texture to weed
my friends tell me i roll backwards and that i only need one paper, blah blah blah
well maybe that's the way they know, but i roll something that works for me
learn to roll and you will smoke what you want and the amount you want when you want
pipes and bongs and vapes are all good too, so enjoy your trip

I agree with SS'67, rolling is like riding a bike. Once you learn you have the skill for life.
Another option are the pre-made empty cones they sell in most of the tourist shops around town. You just fill them up with your mix of choice. They usually come with a straw to tamp the mix down. Twist the end and you have a beautiful Amsterdam style joint. Very easy.

Hi m8
For rolling joints i would say practice, practice and practice go buy a 12.5g pack of tobacco and a pack of king size skins and look for some joint rolling vids on you-tube
Pre roll's can be bought in most places but can be hit or miss regarding quality
As for the smoking ban ask in the coffeeshop ur in and they will tell u their take on the ban
Hope that helps
