What a trip!!

Post by Boner »

So my trip started at 4am on saturday morning, this was more like the time I get to bed let alone get up but as it's Amsterdam I'm up straight away.

Drove to the airport and parked pretty close to the Departure lounge so we walked there (took about 10 mins) straight through to Costalot for a coffee and hopefully meet up with Kermit, didn't see him until we were at the gate, had a quick chat and got bussed to the plane, I think there was a 10/15 min delay but the flight was very good and we made that time up so we landed on time, train into Schiphol then walked straight to Homegrown Fantasy where SoulRider/Andy was waiting with a nice fat spliff of cheese, awesome first smoke that did the job, I bought a gram of Lemon Skunk rolled it up and toked away, it was a nice woody smoke that tasted like a 80's skunk/super skunk.

After a period of time we went our seperate ways, Andy & Kermit went up to Dampkring 2 and we headed to the hotel to see if we could check in, we were staying at the Hotel Cornerhouse mainly because of its central location and reasonable price, we had originally booked a room for 2 nights but because bmibaby cancelled our sunday flight we got in a day earlier, the wife had phoned the hotel and it was fine the extra night we got them to email confirmation of this only to find out it hadn't been written in the book (the owner was drunk everytime I saw him) so there was a long descussion between Herman (nice guy) and the cleaner bloke, they didn't have any double rooms so they put a little foldaway camp bed in a single room and said he'd do a deal on the price when I asked he said he'd only charge us for the single which was €40 making it total to €160 so I offered 150 knowing he couldn't say no so we got 3 nights for €150, not a bad deal, the hotel is alright it isn't the cleanest but it is what I call clean, the bar is pretty generic and we didn't try the food.

I'll come back and finish later as my minds gone blank.

LOL, if you were getting up for work you'd be draggin' ass. I also get the 4AM alarms for the flight to Amsterdam and find I'm unusually stimulated to get going.

Yeah, I used to find that too, even if I hadn't gone to bed until 2.30 and the alarms were always for 3.30am, as liked to be at the airport by just after 4 :)

After checking in and just getting the important shit out of our rucksacks (didn't unpack due to moving rooms the following day) we decided to go for a little walk over to Paradox, we ordered a ham, cheese, lettuce and tom baguette (slightly toasted) Mrs B ordered a Banana/Strawberry milkshake, I had a Banana one (these are in my opinion without doubt the best milkshakes in town) I looked at the menu and got the €12 bag of NY Cheesel which was a nice mellow smoke.

Got to say the guy that was serving that day was awesome, he mentioned he was off to Belgium the following day so we wished each other well, really nice guy, we wandered back towards Centrum and walked up to http://www.discountbikerental.nl/ where got a bike each, the wife ended up with a kids mountain bike, both were old and what I'd call cranky  from there we biked all over the centrum.

More later when the memories come back, I honestly keep forgetting everything!
