Need recommendations - smoke & coffeeshops - Help!

Post by Nickaveli »

Ok last time I went to 'Dam [march '07] the first shop I checked out was Rokerij II. Didn't really like the place compared to a few other that I visited - such as Greenhouse Effect, was very crowded, the budtender was really obnoxious and totally fucked with my high. I don't know if it was a bad chocie of weed or what.

I've noticed that when I smoked sativa the high was awesome, really chilled, laughing at the dumbest shit, no anxiety or anything.

What and where do you guys recommend to smoke to avoid buggin out, I want to make sure I really enjoy my next visit. Any advice is appreciated.

Sounds to me like you want a daytime smoke for your first bowl -- same as me. At some point later, I will most certainly be mashed, but I like to ease into it gradually. I like sativas too, but some of the hazes are a bit too intense and leave me buzzing -- not very chill.

From Anyday, my old reliable daytime smoke has to be the Stella Blue (E10.5/g). This is a beautiful weed, that is ever so slightly spicy and leaves you cheerful and laughing. I do a few bowls of this first without any kif, ice, hash, etc. Lovely stuff.

I also like the Yellow Cab (E8.5/g) from Grey Area for an inaugural smoke. Fruity taste and leaves you with a case of the giggles.

As for the Rokerij, I love most of their shops (3/4), but that's primarily an evening hang for me, somewhere I go to smoke some primo hash and zone on the artwork. They're pretty dark as well, in terms of light level. During the day, I used to hang out at Pink Floyd but they sold the shop to Dampkring. I do plan on going there for the first time next month, since the actual Pink Floyd space was bright and airy. I doubt Dampkring could have screwed that up. You may want to check out that new bunch of coffeeshops that have laid claim to that part of Haarlemmerstraat (Barney's, Dampkring, and Greenhouse). You have three of the best franchises in the Dam within yards of each other -- hopefully you'll find one to your liking. My other favorite daytime shops would have to be Homegrown Fantasy, Siberie, and Katsu. Blaze on.

My fav shops are.
Tweede de kamer,
de kuil (420),
Homegrown Fantasy,
Katsu,
Dampkring

I have never had attitude or disrespect in any of these shops, all will have a nice selection of smokes to choose from

what kind of high does it give? I don't want to end up feeling so out of it that I can't move around lol. I'm looking for something that is kind of 'light' while not taking me up into the clouds, if you know what I mean?

perhaps the orange bud at basjoe

i find it a pleasant mid-strength daytime smoke with a nice taste and a mellow functional high

what i think of as one of the walk&talk smokes

I was thinking the same.

The Lemon Haze isn't the strongest high you'll find but it's probably higher than you want to be.

Sorry just noticed that the Stella Blue is off the menu at Anyday -- now they have the "haze" version which I've never tried before. Still, Orange Bud is widely available and is a nice old school choice. Hunter's has good Orange Bud or to repeat myself, give the Yellow Cab at Grey Area a try.
