AMSERSFOORT - People in the vicinity of Amersfoort may be lucky enough to witness a rare sight on Monday: a flying car. The A1 motorway around Amersfoort will be used to test the
Personal Air and Land Vehicle (PAL-V), a car that can not only utilise the asphalt but can also take to the air.
The PAL-V is a combination of a three-wheeled car and a gyrocopter, a sort of personal helicopter.
In auto mode, the vehicle responds like a car but takes corners like a motorbike.
Transport Minister Camiel Eurlings wants to investigate whether the vehicle could offer a solution to the Netherlands' chronic traffic problems.

that would be cool to see.
used to get into huge arguemnets with one of my old room mates about flying cars. (sci fi nerds can get pretty into it). ive always contended that the world isnt ready, even if science is. i dont trust the majority of other drivers to not hit me on the road. i dont think the average person (myself included) should be given control of an airplane without a fuck ton of training, monitoring and regulations.
