Pollen Presses

I've collected about 2-3g of crystals in my grinder and was thinking of getting a cheap pollen press (the tenner ones on ebay). I've a few questions. are they any good? Do they do a job? and how tight would I need to tighten the press and how long should I leave my kiff in the press?

Half an hour should be plenty, altho I never use machines.
I use a door to press mine! Lol.

cheers dude, have found a handy on-line guide.

Basically, tighten once then leave for an hour and repeat a few times then leave for 8 hours or so. Also been advised to put press on a radiator for an hour in between tightening. Then freeze to ease getting the hash off the pins

Well yeah man, do that. Sounds like a good way.
When i do mine, half an hour, and the shit looks good n' gets me sooo high,
So i guess the way you wanna do it will get you a very nice lil' piece of ash.

if u do use a machine, when u are gonna skin up press the hash in your hands for 5-10 mins, a machine never presses it perfectly

Cheers guys for all the replies. Bought a cheap Grassleaf one from ebay about a tenner.

I had about 2-3g of kiff, it virtually filled the chamber. I tightened the two ends a bit then put it on the radiator for about an hour then tightened the press right up as much as I could, left it overnight then into the freezer for an hour or two. Getting it out was a little tricky (whatever you do dont try a free it all by banging it on the dining room table cos it leaves dents and the Mrs will go nuts) but a few taps with a wooden mallet and it was out, used a stanley blade to get it off the plastic dowels and job done.

I was left with a very small, very dense puck of dark brown hash. It doesnt get much softer in my hand but i put a little bit against a cup of hot coffee and it melted (this is my Dam hash test). Nice one.

It smokes a little harsh and there's not much taste but boy does it pack a punch. One joint had me wasted for a good 2 hours. Result!

Cant wait till I've got enough to try again.

3 ton jack...just the pressure creates the heat....mmmm,,been awhile..

we experimented with a 5 ton drop press!!! BAD idea, heat wasnt the problem, the oil that ooozed out was incredibale in volume that is!!!
