The U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights are all about maintaining the right to revolt. Our right to bar arms was enacted so that the government would know that the possibility of armed insurrection exists if the will of the people is not forwarded. We are not sheep, although it often feels as if we are. The first step is the power of the ballot. Voting is a method of controlled revolution. Our founding fathers were not stupid. They realized that the ballot was not perfect and could be manipulated. Their solution was the right to bare arms, which, if needed, could be used against the government if it continued to fail to bow to the will of the people. Granted, I see little chance of this happening in light of the tools of modern technologies but the threat, although somewhat idle, does have a way of keeping government in check. This is why American’s take their right to bare arms so strongly to heart. It is not a cowboy attitude as it appears to the outsider. It is our basic mistrust of government that I believe we all have.

The violence that is so prevalent in America is not about guns, it’s about economics and the equitable distribution of wealth. If we could solve the later issues guns would become a minor footnote.

How about handing out bongs instead of weapons.
Pass the peace pipe.

F%(K the revolution Trichome, Jesscass just wants to know how to keep her/his shit together in the Dam.
Well as I am something of veteran and expert in these matters I will tell him/her. Consider Jesscass, Amsterdam and its coffeeshop culture has hosted many millions of space cadets over the years and you can bet that 99.9% returned to planet earth happy and unharmed from their trip.

I think you can trust hotel safes, Holland aint't the kind of place where the police commisioners man comes round at 2 am for a slice of the action.

Card/s in one zipped or buttoned pocket and cash probably split in two, big bills in bag/wallet round neck/waist, spenders where its handy.

Don't carry too much classy looking kit around, you're a tourist and on holiday but its good to blend a bit.

Have your c card emergency phone number twice (leave one at hotel) so if, in the most unlikely event, of someone in the street introducing themselves to you as a community financial advisor whilst emmiting psychopathic signals, you can calmly hand it over, bid them have a nice day and leg it for a phone. I say leg it because your new C.F.A. probably would also need your mobile to advance your recent investment.

What else can I say? yes, its the old attitude thing, when you're some where, feel to yourself that you belong there get in a vibe with the place. Meet some avatars from the ACD.

And have a good time :D

"What do we want?"
REVOLUTION
"When do we want it?"
Uh just bring it round tomorrow sometime man. :?
What a long strange trip it is.

Sadly I remember something said to me when I just entered the Army from a combat vet: Go to exotic places, meet exotic people and kill them. WTF!!!!! I knew then I had screwed up bad, but they had me for 6 years of my life in hell. I will always carry the scares inside and out. I was so jadded in my cocoon in the states, (never again). Why are they such warlords and try to make everyone think like us????????? We are not the police of the world and who said were right all the damn time. When I go overseas and people say oh your American I want to stick my head in the damn sand at times.
Pass the peace pipe, please.
mate - I don't even know what to say after reading that.

Hope you are OK - I know that Post War Syndrome can mess up ones life forever...

IMO you thought you was doing the right thing, and discovered that even though your intentions were clean - you're govts intentions were'nt - and there was nothing you could do about it...

If it was me mate - I probably woulda got Court Marshalled for rebelling - but then again, maybe not...itys mob culture in the Army, and you do as you're told, that much I do understand!
Thanks to all for there kind words. I've learned what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Oh the veteran doctors at the VA hospital told me that I have PTSD and there answer was to start giving me pills. Don't want pills and I told them that weed does the best job on my nerves. Time heals most wounds. These leaders need to sit at a round table and pass the bong around and talk about things not war. Peace to all.
Pass the peace pipe.
