so im thinking about getting a 1/4 or so for my return in over a year.

its likely that im gonna return from my travels broke and having temporarily lost my contacts for picking up. so looking ahead, i reckon it'd be a good idea to leave my self a welcome home present.

i have seen some one keep weed in the freezer before, after harvesting.

is this a good idea? will the thawing out process ruin the stuff? is a year in deep freeza gonna affect it in any way? etc etc...

its not bad for the stuff, but dont expect it to be the same taste/high after one year in the freezer, it wont be bad, but it will be different than before

if you do...only take what yer gonna puff at the moment..and never let it thall. and refreeze..you will get mold, freezer burn and even worse,sick...and its not gonna ever be the same as fresh never fucked with herb...ya lose taste,flavor and potency...i suggest airtight jars,or jar...ya know i hated that jar jar thing in star wars...ans speaking of..i smoked some star warz in amsterdam and didnt like it...what happened?

two thoughts if i may ...

one, once i went on a long travelling trip and before the trip began i thought about the re-entry after the trip finished, and what doors i needed to leave ajar so that i could return and go through the doors and my life would have 'picked up' the old thread, that was my thinking at the time and it was reassuring to me that i was being responsible and thinking ahead and all that

but, the trip changed me, i was a different person when i returned, none of the doors i left ajar were of any further interest to me, i was going elsewhere now

so the business of the doors was a waste of time, if i known i would be interested in a clean slate and a new start and new doors then i would not have bothered

so leaving a bit of weed in a freezer somewhere is like leaving a door ajar, it may not be worth the trouble, it's old karma which can be left behind anyway

second thought, the frozen weed will not be as nice as fresh

so if you return from your trip and you want to smoke, my suggestion is to start your home smoking life all over again with a clean slate and you will soon find fresh and lovely new weed again to go with your new perspective on things

Well put StonedSince'67. Freezing it is just not the same. Yea when I moved half way across the USA some years ago it changed my life around and the worst was my (sources) have all been crappy to say the least. That is why when I do go to A'Dam it just kicks my butt. Lol. Life goes on.

I've ruined some very awesome smokes by throwing them in the freezer thinking i'll save for a day when the going is rough.

I hate the taste of frozen weed.

Plug up some hash, it keeps good for at least a coupla years . . .

Short term storage in the freezer is fine. I usually buy an ounce at a time and it takes about 2 or 3 weeks to go through it. Freezing also helps with catching crystals in my grinder. I only take what I need out of the freezer, I don't freeze/refreeze repeatedly. I notice nothing different in taste or effect, even when smoked while frozen. Otherwise I leave it in a ziplock and it dries out.

ziplocks are the kryptonite of THC, they crystals get stuck to the bag and off ur nugs...

Smoke it when you get and take the rough days on the chin.

Parfet jars - with the rubber sealing? I got a large one for £6 in Ikea (of all places) and keeps my stash fresh, that is after I've decided its had enough of a cure...

SO when I store my stash in a parfet jar, I also make sure ithe jar goes into a cool (not cold) dark space - I once had bud like this for close to 8 months before I remembered where I'd hidden it (I was living with my parents and they're totally anti-weediacs) Man that was a cloudy time in my life...

I have about 6 of those I use for curing/storing.

IMO, that's the ticket, for storage. Also, make sure that you keep it in a cool dry place, and minimize the exposure to light. (Light and heat both increase THC breakdown.) Mason jars or pickling jars with a good seal will do the trick.

If you want to store for quite some time, then you might want to make some space cake/muffins/cookies, etc. I have found that freezing space products for a long time, does not seem to greatly decrease their potency.

Or you might just have to do without for a while.

i had that at bluebird, the force was strong with my bag. i believe i had a long discussion about whether or not weed exists in the star wars universe.

i contend that it must, if only as a local specialty on planets that can sustain it. (clearly not possible to grow on Tatooine, but i bet Endor would support cannabis growth, and Ewoks totally look like critters that would get a huge kick out of a nice Indica)
