4 Canadian first timers!

Post by Adam420 »

Hi, myself and 3 of my friends (all males) will be coming to Amsterdam on June 1st for a week. We will be taking an over night flight from Toronto which leaves at 23:00 local time, arrives at AMS at 12:20 local time the next day, and the flight is 7.5Hours so that should be an quite a start to our trip in Amsterdam. We will be staying right off of Damstraat for the entire 7 Nights. All of us are between the ages of 25 and 30 and we consider ourselfs to be heavy smokers (7+g/day). So basically we are hoping to get some advice on where some good spots for us to go. We definitely want to smoke the best that Amsterdam has to offer and hopefully not have to pay more than we have to for Amsterdams finest as this is somewhat of a budget vacation so it would be nice not to have spend more than nessecary. Also we would like to find some spots where we can go out and meet people, like what clubs we can goto at night, and where we might be ablt to go to meet some of the local girls ;) (and i don't mean the ones in the windows). All in all any advice anyone can offer, or any recommendations anyone could provide would greatly be appreciated by all of us as we want our first Amsterdam experience to be the best possible!

Thanks in advance, Adam

Welcome to the forum.

Check out this site for some great information.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.

Browse the Coffeeshop Menus page for some of the latest menus. It will give you a good idea of what strains are available for what prices.

Two of the hotest at the moment shops are Greenplace and Basjoe.

please please take the time to read this document suggested by FlyByNite

imo not being aware of the dangers of bikes in amsterdam will seriously threaten your hopes for your "first Amsterdam experience"

particularly in view of the "7+g/day" statement

so enjoy your trip, but keep your eyes wide open all of the time and in a 360 degree circle, if the bikes don't get you then the trams or motor scooters or motorcycles will

my view is that when the lights are green for you, things are even more than dangerous than red because you assume the green means safety for you but there things turning corners all around you!

Hi again, firstly I would just like to say thanks for everyones feedback so far. I did check out FlyByNite little tutorial it was very informative and I will definitely try and keep my eyes wide open for the people on bikes. The sample menu's were very helpful as well. I also meant to ask in my original post if someone could recommend some reputable and CLEAN tattoo shops as the 4 of us will likely want to get tattoos in memory of our first trip to Amsterdam.

FlyByNite; we will be in Amsterdam from June 1st, to June 8th however I don't know how reliable we will be to meet at a cretin place at a cretin time I have a hard enough time doing that at home, I couldn't imagine what I would be like in Amsterdam, However we will be supporting Canada gear all week just look for 4 guys all decked out in Canada gear wandering aimlessly in the streets of Amsterdam

Also a quick question, so in Amsterdam you are only allowed to be in possession of 5grams? and the budtender will only sell you 5grams? Cause if possible we would like to buy some strains in larger quantity.

Once again I'd just like to say thanks, for any and all help/tips that you have all provided!

5 grams.yes, its the law, but enforced...nah. most shops will sell you what you want. but don't buy too much of anything, because the city is filled with so many varieties...

i love the grey area for top notch purchases (grey mist/la con/ cheese), but not much room to hang...say hi to adam & jon.

i like to hang in amnesia, dampkring, tweede kamer, rokerij....

have fun my brother.... :P
don't panic...smoke some organic....
