Coffeshop maps for Haarlem or Utrecht

Post by blueridge »

Hi Everyone,

I want to spend at least a day in each of these towns during my upcoming trip and would like to find a decent coffeshop map for each if I could. If anyone could provide me a link that would be great.

Thanks,

blueridge

I'm not sure if one exists for either. If it were me, I would simply plot the addresses in Google Maps and print out a map. Easy enough to do. Have fun in Haarlem and Utrecht. You can pm if you have questions re: Google maps.

Great idea, thanks. I was just going to pm you to ask how to get more than one place to show on the map at the same time but then I figured it out. Have you any favorite shops in Utrecht?

Sorry blue, ain't never been, though I wouldn't mind hearing about it. Been to Haarlem tho' and stopped in at the WWs.

Quick question, are u going strictly to buy weed? Reason why I ask is I've done so in the past to get better prices. However, from scanning some of the menus on FBN's site, it seems that current prices are coming into line with AMS. I'm not talking about the fancy name-brand strains, but the old school types: White Widow, Orange Bud, Bubblegum, etc... My thought was that law enforcement was cracking down on suppliers outside of AMS causing the prices to rise.

Titus,
No, I'd be going to see the towns, walk around maybe take some photos and visit a couple of shops while there. I had heard that you could get better prices but like yourself, I got the impression that this was not so much the case from the menus on FBN's site. Your theory about law enforcement makes sense. Then again, seeing how popular Haarlem is with the forum member, the shops may just be taking advantage of higher demand. Whatever the market will bear as they say. If I make it to Utrecht, I'll let you know how it was. From reading through the reviews of the coffeshops, it doesn't seem like the kind of place one would go strictly for the purpose of buying. Most of the reviews characterize the quality as OK but nothing special and many complain about a limited selection. But some of the shops sounds fine to pick up a little smoke and have a puff in. Opinions vary though.

Utrecht has some nice coffeeshops. If you just want some good quality herb, I would recommend El Torro. They have the best gear in Utrecht, imo. It has become very popular with the locals also. The shop is being remodeled so might not be the best place to hang around, atm. Other shops that I found comfortable to chill in, but lack the quality gear are Andersom and Culture Boat. Andersom you must buy gear to go downstairs and sit but that's not the case at The Boat. Utrecht is a very laid back university town and well worth the visit, imo. If you happen to visit there blueridge, could you give us a trip report please. I would love to hear your opinion of Utrecht and the shops. Peace.

Puffin,
Thanks for the recommendation of El Torro; when were you there last?. I'm not traveling with a computer but intend to take notes for a report when I get back.

Sh@dy,
I'll do my best to get a shot of the menu.

I was last there a couple of months ago. I heard yesterday, from someone who works there, that the kitchen is finished and most of the coffeeshop renovations are complete. I plan to visit again soon to check and see how they are coming along. Have a great trip, blueridge! Peace.
