Bike rental questions

Post by blueridge »

When you rent a bike does a chain or some kind of lock come with it? If not, do people usually bring their own? Has anyone ever rented while staying at the Abba, if so where do you keep it at night? Also any suggestions regarding who to rent from near the Abba would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I wouldn't rent a bike unless it came with the appropiate locks, you can chain them to lots of places, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a bike rack/stand close to the hotel you could use, as far as nearest rental place, use the 'search nearby' function on google maps after locating the hotel, theres one just up the road.

Definitely rent a bike dude you will not regret it, a few things you gain by renting a bike:

- you will see more.
- explore more nooks and crannies.
- get to know your way around much quicker.
- spend more time doing the things you want instead of waiting on a trams.
- you'll be less tired at the end of the day.
- plus you'll have a true Amsterdam experience of riding a bike along the canals.

Most if not all places will offer you a lock when renting a bike, leave you're lock at home it probably isn't up to snuff anyhow. When you see the ship anchor chain locks they have in Am'dam you'll know what I mean.

Parking your bike outside near the hotel shouldn't be a problem not to worry.
