Alright so it goes like this. Me and my buddy left from Newark airport at 6:30 PM on Wednesday night, and after a 6 hour plane ride we arrived at Schiphol at 8:15 AM Thursday morning.
There are no words to describe my excitement at the mere thought of the next 4 days to come. My first trip to Amsterdam. So many things to see, so many things to do.
After establishing where the train was, we bought our tickets, boarded, and ended up at Centraal Station in no time. Our hotel was the Hotel Internationaal, a nice cozy little place built on top of a bar right where Warmooestraat meets Zednik. A busy area being right on the outskirts of the RLD, but I go to school in an urban area, so some street noise was the least of my concerns.
Anyways, we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the hotel, who allowed use to drop off our bags as we explored the city before check-in time at 12PM.
So we dropped off the bags. Oh boy, my first trip. Where should I go first? Hmmm.
So we walked over to Damrak and made a right onto the street 420 was, and I couldn't believe it.
We were the first one's in as it was still just 10AM, and we picked a table in the back. I got myself a mango Looza, and damn. Those things are addicting. Anyways, after some admitted apprehensiveness, my friend approached the budtender and asked for a menu. To be honest, the first bud he wanted to sample was the Super Silver Haze. And just his luck, 420 had quite an abundance of this =).
So he bought a gram, rolled it up, and woah. Now hes only 20, and hes been a daily smoker since the age of 16. But never has he experienced anything like this.
The manager was nice. And the bar was pretty nice too. The room was small, but its totally what I expected. We had a double with shared facilities, and everyday I was amazed to find our room nicely cleaned, as well as the shower and toilet remaining immaculately clean as well. Nice hotel. Nice people, nice service. Couldn't expect more for what I paid.
The food was great. The people were great. The architecture and canals were beautiful. The beer was phenominal. And to be honest, I'm not sure I've been to a more romantic area. I want to spend my honey moon there lol. I was actually surprised at just how many people there were various couples ranging in age who just went there to get away and spend some time with one another. Sure a lot of people were wasted Europeans/Americans of younger ages looking for all the sins Amsterdam has to offer, but on the whole I encountered a very diverse group of tourists.
Now to the good part. The shops, and the bud. He kept a running journal of every purchase my friend made. I'll list them for ya, and then I'll break it down as to which he said were the best buds.
He took extensive notes, so here's what he put down:
Day One:
Super Silver Haze @ 420 12e per gram. One gram purchased
Very nice bud. Super paranoid high. Totally paranoid the first 3 hours in the Dam lol.
Cheese @ Abraxas 12e per gram. One gram purchased
Sweet smelling.
G-13 @ Amnesia. 17e per gram. One gram purchased
Holy hell. This shit was SO strong. Crazy looking buds, covered in crystals.
OG Kush Haze @ Homegrown Fantasy. 10e per .8 gram. .8 gram of a gram purchased.
This smelled sweet, but almost musty. An odd smell to say the least. Either way it was a nice buy. Nice solid stone.
Lavender @ Dampkring. 8.50e per gram. One gram purchased
Mellow high. Smooth smoke. Not too strong, but not weak either. Not harsh at all. A lovely smoke.

Uhhh as far as fave coffeeshops?
Amnesia was great. Always great bud, and a chill place. The female budtender was slightly standoff-ish at times. P.S. You should have seen these two. This couple explained to the budtender that they were from Norway and never smoked before. They asked for something weak and the budtender replied that everything was strong. After buying a pre-rolled, they hit it twice, and then put it out and sat in dead silence.
Uhhh Grey Area was too small to sit.
Abraxas was an interesting set up and had a very helpful lady at the bar. Very friendly and chill.
Barney's I realled enjoyed because of the American music.
Rokerij had the best iced coffee I've ever had. The place is a little too "Club" like for me, with very loud music. But it was a chill place none the less.
Basjoes and Bluebird and Mellow Yellow were all chill places. Nothing that stuck out in particular, but nice quiet little places to chill out.
All and all it was a phenominal trip. We did a lot of journeying, saw almost all of Amsterdam (our feet were ACHING and blistered at the end of the vacation). And finally, the disovering of a totally diverse and new culture to me was just almost too much to handle. Never have I been to a place that offers such a variety of people, institutions, and culture. Such a melting pot. Also, as I said before, never have I been to such a romantic place before. Standing over a canal during sunset was almost too much to handle.
Anways, I could break down all 4 days for you guys, but I think I've given you enough to read lol (if you want more, lemme know tho and I'll see about a day by day explanation of events) Thanks again for all the people who helped me out with my postings and helped me to have the great time that I did.

if it gets too long, then we just light up something and settle back for a nice read, so never worry about the length because we love lots of information about what's happening in amsterdam at the moment
