DutchAmsterdam, I'm sure puffin13 will apologise for this technicality. Puffin13 does help us non-dutch media receiving public keep abreast of smoke related happenings in the Netherlands.
DutchAmsterdam Thankyou for the information provided this gives us all a better idea of which coffeeshops are affected.

True, and that's appreciated. But when an article is posted in its entirety there generally is no need to follow the link.

People may think it's no big deal, but in fact the site represents our livelihood, and we must protect our source of income. Even visitors who do not click on ads still help as they show advertisers that the site is being used by x number of people.

Hence the friendly but urgent request. (We also link to the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory rather than simply copying its content. Wouldn't think of if, and while DutchAmsterdam.nl may included the occasional coffeeshop review, we will never even have a coffeeshop directory... ACD is a good site, and I hope for Lemming's sake you support it by booking your Amsterdam hotels via his links).

I'm sorry for not being general but if i read an interesting article i usually go back to the source and look for more interesting articles unless you are suggesting that article is a one off.
I for one had never heard of DutchAmsternational or whatever before Puffin13's article. I have since clicked a couple of times, have i fallen into your trap.
I had sympathy with your original post but you chose to argue further demening our members intelligence. There wasn't any need to explain further. We smoke but you know what we understand as well without the need for it to be spelt out on one hand. Alot of posters on this site are very intelligent, just because they smoke doesn't make them incomprehensible, i do not include myself , believe me on here i am amongst the lower echelon.
Your post suggests good press/bad press we don't care as long as you click on our website.

Advertisers money good / peoples views not good

As the first post was legitimate and i'm sure puffin13 will apologise, are you preaching copyright law and the internet????

This is my area and while goodwill, faith and manners go a long way you are talking about the most enormous problem that law has ever faced and the biggest grey area enough to swallow the world.

Good luck.

Puffin13...

At DutchAmsterdam.nl we go out of our way to provide quality content.

We like the fact that you appear to appreciate our efforts, but we don't like it when our copyright is violated -- as is the case when you post an entire article, regardless of whether or not you include the © dingbat.

Please, in the future simply quote 2-5 sentences and provide a link back. That's how the internet works.

Doing so keeps you and the website you post on out of trouble (see Copyscape).

It would also motivate us to continue posting original content on the topic.

As for the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory, we like the site. It's the best one of the topic :)

Regards,

Anton

I completely understand your concern about your copyrights, DutchAmsterdam. In the future I will only post part of the news articles. I didnt want to step on anyones toes, my only goal is to spread the current events as it relates to this forum. My sincere apologies! I believe that people do click on the source link I included with each article. Many times there are pictures or videos at the source. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and keep up the good work on your site. Peace.

Thanks for your understanding and kind message, Puffin13. I truly appreciate your help in this!

I'm trying to get around to posting a follow-up to the article -- this one showing why Amsterdam's rulers see a coffeeshop-crime connection. Should be up within the next few hours.

Keep up the good work as well.

Yeah, i agree. i also think that both sides handled this professionally and ignored the sideshow theatrics (no offense). the internet is a crazy fast competitive marketplace.

Puffin can continue to be one of the best newshounds around and the writers get to protect their source of income.

Cheers and peace all.

Agreed. Language is an amazing thing that means you can express your point of view perfectly well without resorting to insulting.

This site is a site mainly aimed at providing information about the cs scene and somewhat amsterdam in general. Having a link for hotels is valid and helpful to some people who are confused to how to start their amsterdam experience.

Yeah OK ladies. Let's not forget the original story here... they are going to close a lot of places we all enjoy. Add to that the banning of shrooms and the closing of windows and I can see that in a decade we'll all be banging on about what Adam used to be like. Buy as much as you can while you can...

Too true, and the worst part of it is... the way it used to be! We're worried about 10 years from now, and forget recent history... how great were things just a few years ago?

Even though are first trip is just around the corner, I am so bothered that I didn't get to Amsterdam earlier in life... sigh.

Tonight I am going on National TV to tell our story and help save the coffeeshops. I will be demonstrating the Verdamper vaporizer. Tune in at midnight on VPRO Nederlands Channel 2. The show is called NON.

Sorry Stew.
