Picked up gram of NYCD Diesel from here decent smoke, but tbh kind of slide into the background and didnt really have a strong effect of me.

My mate picked up a gram of Blueberry as well, Ive enjoyed this strain in the past and so did he

Chilled here on the Monday before catching flight home, mates enjoyed the atmosphere of here as well

Had the Chocolope and Caramello from here in March and they were both good.

Good staff, "cheap" drinks, good music, flora and fauna on a big tv, and a friendly atmosphere.

Only downside is that it is roasting hot in summer

I visit the 420 cafe on every trip. sometimes I like it more, sometimes less. 3 Years ago I stayed in the Hotel "de roode Leuw" just a few houses away, right next to the place. I enjoyed bringing some food in the 420 cafe, I liked the music and the staff was great. I had my first "vulcano vaping experience" in there. The bartender, just gave me a fresh and full "vulacano balloon" to try it out.
Actually I found their gear on the menu not quite strong enough. But the atmosphere is simply great.

The new cat is most assuredly not a replacement for the late great Max. He needs a good bit of job training and customer service study before he can get the position permanently.

its become tradition for me to visit 420 once arriving in amsterdam, before booking into the hotel. neviles haze is always a nice smoke for the first of the trip, and the music policy is probably the best of any coffeeshop ive been to. once got interviewed about drug policy in there by a french tv news crew. i wish i could find it online, then again its probably best i cant

one of my favorites for overall quality/service. no hassle, good coffee, reasonable priced drinks, clean bongs for free (no deposit, no charge, no hassle), music, national geographic... menu always good.
NYCD
was pretty good

420haze
nooo not for me. Its like ssh without the zesty lemon taste/smell. so basically its 50% ssh and 50% nothing. hope the ssh will be back on theirr menu one day

this was the first coffeeshop i ever visited on my first trip to dam,way back in 2001,as i was staying in accomodation in the same street, and the place was recommended by the dutch maid who was cleaning our room.
i was very impressed, the quality of the weed is excellent, but as far as im aware, they have not changed the menu in quite a few years!! last time i was here was about two years ago,and i had the nyc diesel which was really good, but as iv now over the years tried everything on the menu,i tend to try places where they sell something i havnt smoked before!!! But that aside,i would definitely recommend this place for the friendliness and ambience,oh and the fact that theres a cake shop next door, and also one opposite,so you only have to stagger a few steps to buy munchies!

Amazing what you don't see when you're not looking for it. I'd never been here in all my visits to the Dam – always assumed, for no very good reason, that it was a tiny shop mainly for tourists in the centre, not worth risking when most ventures away from the tried and trusted shops I always went to were disappointing.

But I couldn't find the sort of black hash I wanted this time, so I was checking everything out that I came across. Went through the door, saw the cat, saw the decor and no menu near the entrance and assumed that I'd accidentally seen the sign for 420 and walked into a café next door, which can happen if you're a bit, well, under the influence. But it was the right place. So I went in, this time far enough to see the menu, which featured quite a nice Nepal. Discussed the availability of hash this time with the budtender, who said A'dam was more of a weed city, though I was thinking more of the difference in one month. Of course, if you go back far enough – but I was feeling old enough as it was. The budtender said she'd only been around for five years.

As for the cat – I didn't know Max, but this one seems to have a certain something. I watched him tempt customers to venture a tentative stroke, get them to do it a second time and then attack quite hard for their impertinence. He was also good at being awkward when I tried to photograph him. A couple of pics: https://picasaweb.google.com/kurwamac/B ... nPu_55fvIQ# Unfortunately, I failed to get a picture of the white-haired gent with a portable vape and blue and brown shoes.

Similar to the poster above, always bypassed this place previously for no real reason, but had to arrange to meet one of our group somewhere in Amsterdam when we arrived so "the 420 @ 4:20" seemed logical :D

Didn't spend long in there as we had to go sort our accom. out but I liked the vibe; decor and design made it feel a bit more like a decent bar perhaps. Grabbed a bit of their Blueberry (£8/g iirc) while we were there, enjoyed it well enough although it wasn't especially memorable.

Very nice place.

Bar in the style of the coffee of series “FRIENDS” but without the settee. To laugh

Always have of good council and very good weeds in this coffeeshop.

It's a pity that it does not have there more choice

I pass there to each voyage.
ps: Excuse me for my English. I use Systran translation to speak with to you.

I was going to write a whole review on my 10th trip but then didnt get time and basically forgot alot of what i was going to write...

However, almost every coffeeshop was trying to short change me this time, Except 420.

More importantly...I went into 420, noticed a free seat at the bar, put my bag down and sat, however somebody was already sitting there so unfortunetly i had to get up and leave as there was no other spaces available...As i left and walked back onto the main street i got a tap on my shoulder, as i looked around it was the lady bartender, i think she was english, she had my wallet in her hand, basically i left my wallet on the bar and was too stoned to notice, IM NORMALLY VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS SORT OF THING..Nothing was missing, i had over 300 euro's in that wallet.

Just thought i should, if any of my trip, tell this story, this place was also the cheapest for drinks, generally a polite and friendly vibe, 1 of a kind.

My wife and I are both 40 and this was, by far, our favorite coffee shop during our 1st visit to the 'Dam a year ago. The only bummer is, I'm highly allergic to cats and they have a house cat (or 2 or 3?) and I could only handle being in there for a little less than an hour. We're considering a 2nd trip in December and if we go, we'll definitely plan on spending a good amount of time/money in De Kuil (as long as my allergies can stand that is).

On the topic of the cat, my wife and I ended up taking a really cool picture of a blonde lady that worked there petting a cat walking along the bar. If I recall correctly, we got the shot pretty much by luck as we were just trying to take a picture of the bar area itself and the 2 of them walked into the shot. I don't know if anyone here happens to know the lady I'm referring to, but if so, send me a PM or something and I'd be happy to send the photo along. I just don't want to post a picture of someone I don't know out of respect for privacy. anyway....just thought if anyone was in touch with her, she might actually like a copy of it.

overall, we really loved the music, "vibe," environment, etc. of this place more than any of the other shops we visited, so we're looking forward to stopping by again.
