Final Report May 14-20

Post by corsicanbro »

Edited Version, tip: use word and cut and paste, lol

Well, I had good intentions to make regular posts and take great notes while in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, I'm sure many of you can relate once you been there about 24 hours, lol. I won't rehash day 1, May 14 (see other post). I think day 1 and the G-13 Haze from Barneys were both the best day and joint of the trip.

Day 2 May 15
Surprisingly, my plan to get over jet lag seemed to be working. I got up very early (3am CDT/10am Amsterdam time) on the day I flew out. I smoked all day and went to bed around midnight Amsterdam time on day 1. I woke up by 8am and was ready for action.

I decided to try the Riff man on a clear head, still no effect, so I followed up with a nice fat joint of Yellow Cab from GA. That is some good stuff. I would say it was some of the stronger effect I tried all week. And at 2g for 16e, not a bad deal. I got ready, drank some coffee and smoked the Hawaiian Snow from Barneys. Over all, it couldn't compare to the Yellow Cab and was not really memorable. Just to make sure I was ready, I hit a bowl of the barney rubble, although I later found it was nothing compared to black berry cheese isolator I got. I was ready for the day. Also to clarify from my other report, I didn't actually smoke everything I bought day 1, so I had a pocket full on me. Which, I found myself slightly embarrassed on the Tram when 3 French ladies started talking about the smell of weed on the tram, lol. Of course I don't speak French, but I was pretty sure they were talking about me.

I was staying across from the Rijksmuseum, so I wandered down to Albert Cuyp Market. Which isn't as short a walk as it appears, but then again nothing is in Amsterdam. I'll just go ahead and throw it out there; I ended up with the biggest blister of my life on my left foot and walked like an 80 year old man after day 2. LOL, but I still walked my ass off, just a little slower. Anyway, ended up at Media because katsu wasn't open yet. Media had a nice safari sativa on the menu. I had never heard of that name before, but I tried it for 10e. It was a nice high indeed, the buds looked nice too. Media was OK, it was early, no one was in there and the budtender fussed at me for putting my feet up on the chair. I have to say, I got in more trouble in Amsterdam for shit like wearing my hat or putting my feet up or smoking tobacco, lol at least no one except the French ladies bitched about the weed. Oh wait, I forgot about Centraal not allowing smoking in there. I didn't notice the signs everywhere and after making a buy, I fired up one I already had rolled caused I was tired and walked all the way up from the RLD and anyway, I found out no smoking at all in there. But that was another day.

Anyway, I got to Katsu right at opening time. The lady there was so nice. I bought the [/b]black widow 1.7g for 20e. I think this is down .1 g per 20 from the older menu. This stuff must be getting popular, and I can see why. I also bought 1.3g NL Silver Pearl for 10. OMG, the NLSP was one of the best smokes all week. very pretty lime green buds with lots of white fur and a fair price. The nice lady asked me if I would like to use the fresh clean house bong? how could I turn that down. I asked her which of the buds I should try in it first. She recommended the NLSP because it was not quite as strong as the BW. Well, being the man I am, I put the BW in there and whoa. It was awesome. Of course it didn't matter anyway, cause I followed it with a bowl of the NLSP which I was dieing to try. I rolled the rest of the NLSP and the taste was great and smooth, so I do recommend this buy. I survived the bong hits, and finally got STONED. I didn't write much, but some how I left there and ended up at HSB. I think it was HSB on Niuew Market. I decided to get White Widow 1.3g for 10e. It was an ok place, but it was the one of the very few shops that were strictly enforcing the tobacco ban. I heard the waitress tell the budtender she already warned a guy up there about mixing and now he was rolling another one. Shortly after I fired up the WW joint, they threw him out and he spit a big lugi (loogi)whatever on the floor. It was nasty and the budtender almost puked cleaning it up lol. The only good think was it freed his seat up by the window looking out on the water, so his loss was my gain. Oh the WW was nothing special. Got lost looking for Bluebird, but I found it.

At Bluebird, I got So Gouda 1.3g 12.50e and G13 Hash Plant 1.2g 12.50e and Star Wars 1.3g 12.50e. All 3 were great choices. The So Gouda was some of the best cheese I had all week.

Made it to NES early and just before a bad rain storm. I introduced myself to the bartenders and they made me feel very welcome. They said Dave left something and they soon brought me a Vaporizer Bag. It was my first of the trip and it was awesome. The NES is awesome too. Very nice place to smoke and drink and chill. Brad420 and his bud showed up. Blueridge didn't make it, and I missed everyone else if they came. I ended up hanging out with some Punk Rockers from Iceland and had a great time. Brad went to eat and came back. I didn't write down what we smoked, but I am sure it was all good. We did see a funny thing where some guy told some girl to slap him and she did, harder than hell. What's funny is I just went to the toilet and she stole my seat. I told Brad after she left, I am glad I didn't tell her she was in my seat lol. I think that is the worst effect of the tobacco ban, every time you go out to smoke or go the toilet someone steals your seat, lol. Anyway, I got to bed around 1AM eager for Day 3. Nightcap was black widow with some riffman, I was out 5 minutes after I put it out.

Day 3
I was supposed to meet Brad around 11 or 12 at Barneys. I was there around then and drank some coffee at the cafe and smoked some remnants of a few hazes I had in my pocket. It was cool sitting there watching a cop across the street talking to the locals and patting kids on the head. They were friendly and part of the neighborhood, obviously not looking to harass or being an asshole.

Anyway, I checked back in at Barneys and no Brad. I went to Popeye’s and took a seat where I could see Dampkring and the sidewalk. Popeye’s is great! The nice lady there gave me a free Huka hit, off which I got a nice headrush. I bought the
[/b]Pink Kush for 15e , I wish I had of tried Amnesia's PK for 12, because Popeye's was not the best sample. Tight little nugs, but no pink hue, also I had too many stems in my sample. But I did get a great stoned buzz, and the joint resined up better than any all week. LOL, looking at my notes I said made my head foggy and my vision blurry. GD why didn't I buy more? Anyway, left there and walked to Grey Area. I got Sleestack 16.50 e/g and Chocolope 8.50e/g. Now I remember, Brad had some Sleestack at NES and it was awesome. Until he dropped it on the floor in some spilled beer and shit. I still tried to smoke it, but it was too wet and "dirty" lol according to Bradz buddy. Anyway, I got a bar stool and enjoyed the ambiance at GA. It was cool as crap sitting there seeing people flowing in nonstop. Plus the lady across the street working at the Candy Store was pretty hot. All I can say is you can't go wrong with anything from GA. The budtender threw in a free pack of papers too. The sleestack stoned me good and the chocolope was so flavorful. It was one of my favorites of the week for flavor anyway.

I left GA and went all the way to Katsu. A combination of walking and trams, but I got there. Katsu I got Silver haze 1.3g for 10e and Sphaze original haze 2g for 20e. I bonged the sphaze and it rocked me again. Definitely different buzz than the BW and NLSP from the day before. I recommend the Sphaze. I left Katsu and went home for a little rest. Smoked some more yellow cab and finished the tiny bit of sleetstack I had left. Still can't say enough about either one. I actually wrote here, I must have more Sleestack!!! LOL, unfortunately I never got any more

Checked the map and made my plan, I wanted terminator. Off to Basjoe's for Terminator 50e/g and Orange Bud 7e/g and Space Cake for 5e. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE shop of the week. The cake was so moist and scrumptious I told James the budtender he should sell a nonweed version. He told me he only had the wet terminator which is what I wanted and actually the only I knew about. It was like caramel wrapped in brown paper. James gave me a toothpick and explained how to administer it. he recommends painting the paper and it worked great. He also gave me a free coffee. he is very laid back and the music is kind of jazzy. It is kinda small but there are tables on the sidewalk too. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the cake and terminator for say 3 hours. The orange bud was a nice base for the terminator. LOL, it says here my ears are burning? The cake buzz was like taking a few xanax or something, very mellow. Made it back to Nes, drank a couple of beers and went to Leidseplein to eat some ribs. Pancake Corner is pretty cool. I ate the 2 slabs of ribs, fries and salad for 12.50e. Plus 3 pints of beer. Since it was right next to Bulldog, I took a seat close to it outside and enjoyed a few joints after dinner. The G13 Hash from BB was one. Not much flavor buy great buzz. Made me decide to flirt with one of the hottest women I met in Amsterdam. She was a waitress there and only works Saturday nights. She is from Hungary. Unfortunately she said she had to go when she got off at 3AM, lol, so I hung around and dranked and smoked and flirted with her until nearly 3AM. Oh and enjoyed the fights, barfing, scooter wrecks and other fun stuff on the Leidseplein on a Saturday night.

Day 4, got up and smoked more terminator on the Blueberry Haze I was till carrying around from Day 1. It was a great wake and bake. The terminator never terminated me, but it made everything better. I headed up to Haarlem St to look for Brad. No luck at Barneys so I went back to Popeye’s. I was gonna get the PK, but went for the Big Buddha Cheese for 13.50. She also gave me another free Huka hit. I also bought 1/2 g of Nepal Cream for 6.50e on budtenders recommendation for a good black hash. I liked it! this was more like the hash I remember. I left there and rode the "stop n Go bus" to Waterlooplein and ended up at the Rokerji. It was ok, except the no hat policy and you have to go downstairs to see the budtender. The waitress was cute and I met a couple nice girls from England in there. They were trying the Space Cake from there and it was dry and not tasty according to them. I got the Chocolope for 9.50e/g. It was as good in flavor and strength as GA. I then stumbled upon Old Amsterdam and got White Cheese for 12e/g. It lived up to my expectations. Very nice indeed. I wrote here that the first hit made my eyes burn. Dang, why didn't I buy more again?

From there it was back to Basjoe. I wanted some more cake. I didn't buy any smoke this time. But I terminated some Yellow Cab and ate the cake. Let's just say I was happy for awhile. I also heard Leo the other budtender give a guy a money back guarantee on some cheese he recommended. The guy bought it. When he came back for drinks, he wasn't wanting his money back. Leo also helped two lesbian tourists who obviously never smoked before. One looked like she may have had cancer, maybe there for medicinal purposes. LEO explained everything and went and sat down and rolled them some pures. Anyway, everyone at Basjoes is great. Went back to Nes and a couple employees from GA were there. I talked to the professional roller for GA and gave him a Cig for a mixed. It was a cool chat and cool place once again.

I'm sorry that's all for now, but the exciting conclusion is yet to come!

The rest of the story…

Oh more about Basjoe, another cool thing I saw there was when the two ladies came in I mentioned earlier, one was in a wheel chair. Leo was gonna have them come up front where the chair wouldn’t be sitting out in the aisle and he asked a Portuguese couple if they would trade tables with them and they were like sure and started to get their stuff together, well the ladies were insistent on staying where they were near the door and the couple ended up having to sit back down, long story short, Leo gave them a nice bud for their aggravation.

Day 4 continued

I forgot to mention in my last post was that I walked from Basjoe’s all the way to Central Coffeeshop before I made it to Nes. Central had a nice menu. 12.50 and 25.00 e bags already made up. They open the box and the bag you select is what you get. I got 3.2g of Amnesia Haze for 25.00e. Thinking back, I don’t know why I didn’t get any hash while I was there. Probably because like I mentioned, you can’t smoke in there at all and I was hot, tired and ready for a joint. Well, I guess if I was that hot and tired I would have stayed and had a drank, but instead I walked outside and smoked one I already rolled and caught the Tram to the Dam.

The night ended pretty early around midnight, no notes on the nightcap 

Day 5
Woke up to more yellow cab. Again I can’t say enough. While some may find it a little too strong for a wake and bake, it went nice with my coffee. After a shower and such, I smoked a nice joint of the amnesia haze from Central. It was a little drier than the Amnesia sample, but for the price it was good and had a lot of crystals. It gave me the motivation I needed do some cultural stuff today, so I rolled a one more with a little terminator and decided to walk around the block to the Van Gogh museum, with plans to hit the Anne Frank House later in the day. I smoked it on the walk through the quite streets from the apartment to the museum. I had to put it out a little early and walked right up. No line! The museum was cool. There were 3 paintings that I truly enjoyed seeing. Sunflowers, starry night and the one with the crows in the wheat field.

I smoked some star wars otw to Basjoes. It wasn’t really memorable either, but it made the walk enjoyable. I got my new favorite breakfast, James’s space cake and coffee. The cake was not quite having the effect I had been enjoying. I stayed long enough to smoke 4 joints, 2 with terminator. James can attest, I never fell off the bar stool. I asked about the Isolator, but James said they were out. He actually recommended Barneys, but instead I sought out the Bushdoctor. I don’t know why I waited so long to get some isolator, but I knew I wanted it and I had read some good things recently about the Blackberry Cheese. I asked the bald budtender at bushdoctor if he thought I should go with the blackberry or one of the melts. He recommended the blackberry cheese at 45e/g. My notes simply have “WOOT! – major headrush, 1 hit”

Wow, I must have been stoned because I walked all the way to Grey Area, but I did stop for a bacon and cheese pancake and some coffee. Oh yeah, I was definitely stoned, my notes say, after I went to the bathroom I left. The waiter ran me down because I forgot to pay. OMG, luckily I think he knew I was stoned so I gave him an extra euro and said sorry, lol.

I made it to Grey Area and I must have still been stoned because I only bought 1 g of Chiesel for 13e. Why didn’t I get more Sleestack??? I took a seat and smoked the Chiesel. It really needs no review, it is from GA and it is called Chiesel, it looked great and tasted great. Although I had a table and enjoyed quite a show as some yahoo was trying to talk the budtender out of fronting him some until tomorrow. The guy didn’t leave quietly, and he didn’t get any weed. I was thirsty and wanted a milk shake, so I walked around to Amnesia. I looked at the menu twice, but didn’t buy anything??? Was I still so stoned that I didn’t want the Pink Kush or the LSD I really wanted to try? I guess so, I do remember smoking something with my shake but I didn’t write it down.

From there it was to the Anne Frank House. You gotta do it at least once in your life, but not sure its worth the price of admission. From there my notes say I walked for miles and made it to 420. I got some more 420 Kush which was a good Kush, but lagged behind the Pink and OG samples. Went to HGF. Got more Cheese and OG Kush haze. I really found out I love the Kushes and combined with the Haze makes a very nice combo. I highly recommend you try it. I like it much more than the Cheese, and I even wrote in my notes, I wish I had of waited on the cheese and got it somewhere else. I also had started getting the knack of rolling dutch style cigs due to the ban. Nothing better than a little hash and tobaccy. Says here I rolled one of them with some King Hassan I had left and walked my butt down to Nes again.

Nes was slower than it had been all week. I did finally get to meet Dave. I complimented him on his bar and staff. He bought me a beer and rolled me a pure as we chatted about life in the Dam and his recent trip to Spain. He made feel like a VIP and again I can’t recommend Nes enough for the place to go and chill with a beer and a joint.

Well, I’m gonna save sure enough dramatic conclusion until later. Just a sneak peak, my dad was supposed to meet me the last day and hang out before we both flew back to the US. He is semi-cool so I was looking forward to taking him back to the 70’s. Also, did the canal cruise ever happen? Did I ever finish the black berry cheese? And how many space cakes did I buy for the ride home? LOL

Hey Corsicanbro,
Thanks for the report it is a really great read. I wish I could have caught up with you again at some point, I was great to meet you and hang out on that first day. My notes from my trip are crap and my memory is much worse but I intend to put a report together at some point. I am looking forward to hearing about the rest of your adventure and especially about your dad's visit.

I got home around 2300 and smoked out for an hour or so. I smoked some of the blackberry cheese in the cool little wood pipe I bought for 5e. I also smoked some Laughing Buddha I still had from day 1. I think it was 6.50e/g from Dampkring which made this a good deal considering how nice it was.

Day 6
Well, I got up at 6:00AM like I planned and smoked a terminator and blueberry. Then I took the TRAM to Central to meet my Dad. He was right there and we hopped right back on the Tram and went to the room to drop his stuff. I had been debating on whether to try him out on some weak outdoor since it had been many years since he smoked, or as I decided to do, smoke a fat Chocolope, followed by a bowl of Nepal cream. Well, let’s just say I should have stuck to plan A. Dad didn’t fall out or anything, he actually started out pretty good, but then as we walked across the street and became the first in line or actually the only people in line at the Rijksmuseum an hour before they opened, he was insistent on being the first ones in, lol. Well I found a cool little archway by the pool covered with vines. I fired up a terminator and Sphaze as we were all alone. He walked over and took one hit. Within 5 minutes he became very paranoid and insisted I put it out. He also insisted we go back to the entrance so we could be sure to be first in. I was thinking oh shit pretty much by now. Anyway, the 30 minute wait mellowed him a little and then a short line formed behind us. LOL just as they unlocked the door, they brought up a group of Japanese tourists and rolled them right in front of us, LOL. Then right before we went thru security and the metal detector, he got paranoid about me bring weed in the museum. I pointed to the sign that had the red lines thru prohibited items and there were only 3 items, weapons, food, and cameras, LOL. Long story short, it was definitely worth seeing once. The details in Rembrandts work are amazing. Well, after that we were supposed to go to the Heineken museum. Instead I tried to steer him toward Katsu as it was almost opening time. We got to Albert Cuyp and he got the major munchies. We stopped at a little café and ate pancakes with bacon and cheese and beer. That is after he changed his order 3 times and finally went with what I ordered. Soon after finishing the big ass pancake, he spotted a fruit and nut stand. He sent me over to buy some. Apparently I didn’t get enough, because before I could pay the bill he was over there order more dried fruit. No lie, he went back one more time in less than 10 minutes. Then, he decided he needed euros, he hadn’t changed any money. I was one block from Katsu and jonesing like crazy, yet he wouldn’t hear of it. Long story short, we walked the other direction because someone told him there was bank 4 minutes that way. First, any directions anyone gives you in the Dam you must at least double or triple. So after a 10 minute walk we found a bank, but they didn’t change money! OMG, long story short, I convinced him to catch the Tram back to Central, he got money and I finally was able to get him to walk over to Central and I finally got to finish the jay from the Rijksmuseum almost 3 hours later! We walked down through the RLD and finally I got him to Basjoes. He wouldn’t even go in. I went in and talked to James and he sold me 4 Spacecakes, 1g of Jack herrer and 2 coffees for 30e. Not too bad! I went out front with Dad and e refused to smoke anymore. He even tripped about smoking outside until like 4 cops rode by on bicycles and they didn’t look twice. Long story short, the Jack Herrrer was as good as everything else from Basjoes and went well with 1 of the spacecakes and coffee. Dad did nibble on part of the cake before I told him what it was. Anyway, James wrapped the other 3 to go for me. From there he did some window shopping and finished before I could even finish off a mixed hash 

As we walked by Kadinsky I made a quick purchase of trans Himalayan 1g for 10.50 e. The best non ice hash of the trip let me just say! Easy to roll and nice high. Of course I didn’t get to smoke it until later because Dad would only stop for beer and poon, not weed and was now refusing to smoke anymore, oh well his loss, even though he was obviously still bungled. Looks like I also made a quick duck into Greenhouse for Trainwreck at 10e/g and OGKush at 11e/g. This is where the butthole budtender got smart when I asked if they had any purple kush. I was thinking about Greenplace,. I asked for his strongest kush and he said the OG Kush at 11e/g. We managed to get to Boom Chicage by 1700 for our Canal Cruise. I had just enough time to roll 2 quick joints while he disappeared to find beer. I found him around the corner eating French fries and no beer, lol. I told him we had to be there in 5 minutes so I got some fries to go, got 2 beers in a shop and got to Boom. Our Captain introduced himself and in all the confusion I don’t remember his name, but he was great. The cruise was awesome. The only problem was I was the only smoker on the boat. I could tell by a quick scan of the group it was gonna be interesting. A middle aged couple with red wine, bread and cheese. A college age couple, the girl was hot but the dude was obviously a preppy jock type who was already giving my the eye like “Are you looking at my gf?” LOL. But they also had two bottles of white wine. And an asian couple that spoke little English. Oh yeah, plus Dad. Shortly after the trip began and they popped their corks, I popped mine. I had the train wreck and og kush all twisted up. I smoked the train wreck first. It was good. That was the best of the Greenhouse collection. Oh, dad had done moved to the stern and was talking the Captain’s ear off. The older lady across from me said, “Oh I thought I smelled hooch?’ She smiled, but I wasn’t sure how to take it. After I finished it, she asked me, “I heard Amsterdam weed was very strong, how does it feel to finish one all by yourself?” Everyone turned and looked at me as I crafted my answer. Playing it cool, I said, well it is about like drinking a glass of wine to me. In reality I was stoned as hell, but they wouldn’t know. A little while later I fired up the kush. It was the least favorite of all the kushes, which includes og kushXhaze, pink kush, og kush, and 420 kush. Anyway, as everyone got a little wine buzz going and the blonde kept eyeing my joint, I also caught the other lady eyeing it. She hit it 5 times and was wasted before her boyfriend ever knew it LOL. I finally let him hit it a time or two, they had not smoked in 20 years come to find out. Dad was just staring in amazement. The ride soon ended and somehow the middle aged couple asked my Dada and I to sit and have a beer and eat some of their cheese they never ate. All I got to say is it was a trip, and I have never seen any person eat so much cheese at one sitting as that lady did 

We finally ditched them and I managed to get Dad to Nes after he ate all kinds of cheese bread, croissants, ice cream, French fries and who knows what else. At Nes I rolled up several remnant joints I had in my pocket and enjoyed a few beers with my old dad. We left there and went to Pancake Corner, ate some pancakes, drank some beer and he was ready for bed. I hit Rokery again around the corner and got Chocolope at 9.50 and Stargazer at 10e/g. I had never heard of stargazer, but the budtender recommended it to the guy in front of me, because he wanted something that was gonna waste his ass. I said, well make that one for me too! The stargazer was excellent! Definitely an indica, tight little buds that I saved for my last joint in Amsterdam.

I’ll wrap it up. I stayed up all night and did laundry and smoked everything I had. What leftovers??? The chocolope was very tasty from Rokery. Right up there with GA. I smoked the hell out of the hash, all night. Bowl after bow. I was proud, had to clean it out as it was totally gummed after only 6 days. I even smoked the resin out of it. I was mixing weed, blackberry ice, and terminator on joints and still rocked on through! It was the best all nighter of my life. All, while I listened to some good classic rock, drank coffee, listened to dad snore and mentally prepared for departure. We had to catch the train to the airport by 8 so I got dad up about 6 and still had 2 more joints to go. I roll American style, so I had a big sack of roaches. You can say what you want, but I rolled up a huge roach joint and it got so gummy and resinous it was like smoking a pure hash joint!!! I then followed it with the stargazer and the finally scraped up tidbits of terminator. I was whacked and dad was already down stairs impatiently waiting.

I did have one little surprise. I really wanted to smoke at the airport. I had a mixed Dutch tobacco with the last of the trans Himalayan. I walked over by the fountain and smoked it. Until dad came over and had a meltdown because I was smoking in front of an international airport. I finished it off and went inside. Then he pissed me off so bad about the cake, I sat down and ate all 3 right there without any drink or anything. Long story short, the plane ride home was pretty nice. I felt like I was floating as we sat there for hour waiting for take off. Then dad started farting from all the food he ate in 24hours and it was a miserable second half of a plane ride home.

So there it is, a crazy week and I am already planning the return. It is addictive, Amsterdam that is, not weed.
