If possible instead of packing my own stuff I was wondering if there is a shop that sells organic hemp goods like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lip balm and so on. I think it would be a lovely souvenier for myself too.

Maybe try LUSH located at Kalverstraat 98 or their second store at Leidsestraat 14.
The reason this one comes to mind is because the wife and I where in Orlando a few months back and noticed a LUSH store at the airport and we both had flashbacks of the one on Kalverstraat we had visited in March 2007.

Another place you might try is HEMP HOTEL. This one came to mind from recent hotels searches... located at Frederiksplein 15.


A quick Google search found this one.... HEMP WORKS for Dr. Bronner's products. Located at Nieuwendijk 13.

Or maybe ask at the Cannabis College for the products you're looking for, they may be able to help out. Located at Oudezijds Achterburgwal 124.

De Tuinen is like a chain of organic and natural foods and goods. they have soaps and Vitamins... They probably have hemp stuff as well...

I think there is a body shop in schipol. I know for sure they have the organic hemp stuff.

The Body Shop sells hemp body care products and also Hemp Shopper. For hemp food products the Bio Markt is a good resource. I havent ever found any hemp products at de Tuinen. Hempy shopping!

I'd go with Hemp Shopper too. They have a wide range of stuff.

Hopefully I'm not missing the point, but isn't saying 'organic' just a way of increasing the price for nothing? I mean Hemp does not require any pesticides or anything to grow, so surely all hemp is organic?? As long as nothing artificial is added to the soil or plants, then it's organic right? Or do people still use evil junk with Hemp, even though it's not neccesary?

I am looking for organic products free of chemicals and preservatives.

For example this hemp shampoo in the states that I bought (with excitement) in the states. Used it once BEFORE reading the bottle. I felt all icky after I read it and returned the bottle to the store. I lied to them though and said I hadn't used it (there was no safety seal thing)I just told them I was about to use it and read the ingredients. That bottle was like 16 oz and it cost about $9 USD not to mention I got the matching conditioner so of course I wanted my money back.

Here are the ingredients to this shampoo. I can't remember all that are bad but I do know that the highlighted stuff I avoid and I still don't trust all the styff I can't pronounce.

I bought that when I was first getting into buying organic body care and assumed because the brand has the word nature in it it would be all natural. Now I only buy certified organic products. I am not sure if there is an organic certification process over seas.

oh an soulrider it makes me sick how many companies make things like hemp shampoo with evil junk in it.

I go by if you can't eat it why but it on your body. I have this Dr. Bronners shave gel and it taste sweet. I could eat it and be just fine. I wouldn't do that though. This home made furniture polish next to me is made out of olive oil and lemon juice. If I really wanted to I could drink it.

So you're not talking about the hemp being non-organic, but just all the chemical additives they put in to make it shampoo etc. That's a good point, but then it can still be organic with those chemicals in, because the hemp is organic. Certainly in the UK, and I believe the rest of the world, there are stringent guidelines that must be met and soil testing etc taken place before a company can start labeling their products as organic.

Just one issue with your, can't eat it so won't put on body theory.. Chillies are edible, but I wouldn't put one of those on my body!!

I would prefer everything inside the shampoo and what not to be organic or at least natural and free of junk. Some companies cant afford to get their stuff certified organic even though it is grown organicly so they just lable it all natural.

The if you can't put it on your body don't eat it thing didn't come from me it came from a natural cures book I read. It made a lot of sense to me. Your skin is the biggest organ of your body and all these people eat organic food but they do not use organic body care and what not. Their skin absorbs all the bad stuff. It isn't just a phrase to be taken so literal it is just a good guideline. As for those chilies you won't put on your body there is capsaicin in hot peppers (made into a cream) that is used topically on the skin for pain relief. They make it into a spray used to reduce nasal polyps, sinus congestion, pressure, headache pain, sneezing and runny noses. . Capsaicin has also been used in melanoma treatment.

Not really I've smoked, rubbed and eaten masses of plants in my quest to try different highs

I'm just not a wlaking encyclopedia for all they can do, and you learn more each day, but let's just say I was talking rubbing a fresh scotch bonnet on the body, that would not provide pain relief!!! I've seen disasterous resluts from chillies and skin contact, lol
