What better way is there to start a trip than at Club Media, it was around 11:00 after we had dropped our bags in at the hotel and had wandered across to De Pijp. We had a warm welcome both from the attractive young bud lady and the little black and white cat; who apparently lives across the road at the cheese shop but wanders over to media every day and has to be collected by the owners at closing time as he is too stoned to want to walk anywhere.
I asked for the champagne haze but they were out, doh, so I went for the super silver haze for €11 per g as my first joint. This was more like super sticky haze, I still had no grinder at this point so used my fingers to break up the joints worth, by the time I finished I was able to pick up my pen off the table only using the resin on the tip of my finger! So I smoked the joint along with a cappuccino, there were only two other people in the shop, my friend and I sat back in comfort and discussed our plans for the weekend.
I had wanted to buy some more for the €15 ice hash that I had enjoyed back in September, again they were out so I asked the bud lady if the €25 ice was much better, she told me that it was good and worth the money as she had enjoyed her samples but she admitted she had not tried the €15 one; I opted to try half a gram of this €12.5 which I smoked latter that night, yes it was very smooth and strong but to be honest propably not worth that much more extra money, I am more than happy staying with the €15 variety in future.
Plus I got a gram of the Dutch Hash 1 at €12.50, now this is more like a fine Moroccan than a ice hash but made in Holland. It did not hold the unique flavours than you get in the best Moroccans but is more than able to hold its own in terms strength. I liked this hash and I'd be happy to purchase more as the price is fair, the taste is good and gives you a punch.
Whilst we were there my friend also used the 10% discount on 5 grams and purchased their Nepal €6 a gram, 5 grams €27, he is not a big smoker but is happy to smoke a little hash now and again. He gave me a joint to roll one evening, its not the most pliable hash I have held and you can feel a few impurities when rolling the snakes. It was tasty enough when smoked, I smoked half the joint before I went to bed and the effects did not really cut through my already blurred mind; but I finished it off the next morning it had quite a nice mellow feeling, not going to blow you out of the water but keep you floating along nicely. The hash did the job for what my friend wanted and he was more than happy with the size of his bag and the price, if it were me I guess I would want to go for the Nepal+ €12 or the Indian €15 per gram but every one to their own.
So we finished the drinks and floated off to the market street, I was back in Amsterdam and up and running. Top notch gear at a great Coffeeshop, a must visit for me these days
