Ijmuiden has a whole assortment of bunkers and a cool bunker museum. You can still climb around in them and discover deep dark tunnels too. I would take my bike on the Flying fast ferry from Centraal Station to Ijmuiden, then ride about 3 kilometers to the bunkers. Lots of other cool stuff out there including fresh fish to eat, the peers, the locks, the Historical fortress Island, etc etc etc. We do this trip often on the Ganjatours.

Liberty Park, Overloon. I've done research on this.

It's not really a short trip from Amsterdam, between the trains, buses and time spent at the museum..... count on taking up most of the day.
Briefly - it's like 3 hours from A'Dam to Overloon, then let's say you want to spend 3 hours at the museum.. then another 3 hours for the return.

Let me gather my notes and I'll send you a PM with details.
Give me a few hours to gather this for you, I have a few things to get done around the house first.

Another option, though not as large of a museum as Overloon, is to go check out the Airborne Museum in Arnhem.... much shorter trip from A'Dam.

Hey cisco -
Sorry but it looks like the Airborne museum in Arnhem is closed until July for building renovation. Their website does not give specific dates of re-opening.
Operation MARKET-GARDEN

PM sent with instructions for Overloon.
It's mainly how to successfully use the NS Rail site. The Dutch rail site does not refer to this as Liberty Park but instead it's called National Oorlog - en Verzetsmuseum. Took me a few minutes and a Google search to find the proper name to navigate the NS.NL Journey Planner correctly.

aka Liberty Park.

Cisco - Glad to help out!

Yes, it would be a much shorter trip from Eindhoven to Liberty Park. It's like 1.5 hours each way from Eindhoven.

I take it you're going to the Scale Model Factory event in October?
Dabble in WWII modeling myself..... three weeks ago I broke out an old large box FULL of 1/35th scale things.... thinking of getting back into the hobby again. Now I just have to figure where to set-up the work area. It's been 6 years since messing with that stuff.... something I've been interested in on & off since my youth... along with other WWII research.

How about stopping in a bunker?

You'll have to translate the site using something like babelfish.

HI MHD how much is this Ganja tour? Is it regularly scheduled or is it just when you have people interested in it? I'm in town the 16-25 of this month.
