Report: Three Strains from Amsterdam

Post by zippycut »

While in Amsterdam, I sampled a good bit of shrooms (including one 8th of Ecuadorian that I brought back to the UK inside a sandwich, and ate here yesterday.)

Philosophers Stones:
Small, crunchy "truffels" mentioned in the other thread. Taste pretty rancid, but not unbearable. Lots of visuals, not a whole lot of headspace. Not the best shroom trip out there. Not really recommended unless you're going to the Van Gogh museum, as the visuals would be nice and the lack of crazy head space makes dealing with lots of people easier than other shrooms, but still mildly challenging.

Columbian
Definitely got a lot of body feeling with this one, spent most of the time tripping lying in bed listening to music. I was quite baked on other stuff at the time, but still got a feel for the shrooms. I did 1/2 of a serving. Much more mindspace, but visuals too. Fun stuff.

Ecuadorian
I smuggled these back in a sandwich, which was ingeniously suggested to me by the cashier at Baba Shop (not the coffeeshop, but the head shop), who was the friendliest person I had met in any of the smart shops I checked out. He recommended the Ecuadorian as a good trip after I told him what shrooms I had tried before.

These things are pretty fantastic. I wandered around my neighborhood in Notting Hill admiring the eggshell pastels coloring the buildings. I watched Lord of War, which was absolutely fantastic. It's a very uplifting, happy trip. Highly recommended.

My only regret was that I didn't get to try the Hawaiian, which I was kind of hoping to do.

Hopefully this will help out some people looking for suggestions.

Ingenious indeed. I wonder if the same could be done with some hash or grass. I know mushrooms will be easier to integrate into the sandwich itself but I can't help but think that hash or grass..............

I think the hash would smell (at least to dogs) while the mushrooms wouldn't.
But I thought about it. Perhaps wrapped to mask smell or something.

The dogs are trained for weed/hash and can sniff it out through most materials.
Gotta look out for those "passive" dogs at the airport if your carrying too - they'll pick you out without you even realizing!!!

Nods. They'll smell it even if its in the Seventh Gate of your Rear Passage. Think about it this way, they train dogs to recognize cancerous cells INSIDE people before machines can even detect them. Do you honestly believe that some wrap and yer colon will keep a dog from sniffing out the chronic?

Well that's me all out of ideas for safe smuggling then.

I wasn't planning to do it anyway but I'm sure that my mind would perhaps have changed by the time my seven day stay comes to an end.

Maybe more people getting caught coming back from Amsterdam means more chance of this tourist ban thing becoming a reality.

I will not put myself in the position of being partly to blame for that.

Don't get me wrong, Doog. Just 'cause they can smell it doesn't mean you will get caught. I don't think I have ever seen a drug dog in any of my international flights out of (or into) NY. Ever. So, the chances of me getting caught for smuggling is probably low. However, the one time you decide to do it is the day you run into fido. And nothing you do will keep him from sniffing the goods. Going between Britian and the 'Dam seems to be a lot easier, but again.. it all comes down to the risks. If you know them, you can take um. But don't kid yourself about them and then wonder when you get busted what went wrong.

My trip is fully planned now and I have started thinking about what will happen when I return home.

I know for a fact that I will not be able to return to Amsterdam for 3-4 years due to finances and I also know that the availability of hash/weed at home will be as bad as it has been since I last had any sort of smoke in November 2005.

I know that I wouldn't have the nerve to take a lot back with me (absolutely no more than 5g) and although it would provide me with a week or two more memories of Amsterdam, I really don't think the memories would be good ones if I was to be caught.

I look kinda dumb and probably like the kind of guy who would be taking something back and thinking that it wasn't going to be him who got searched.

The customs guys would probably walk over their own mother to get to me as I would be such an easy spot for them.

That may work to your advantage. They may think that you would be the last one to try given that you fit the model. I still wouldn't take the chance but that's a personal choice.

I'm really gonna go for it as far as the hash/weed is concerned (SEE TRAVELOGUES BEFORE/80 EUROS PER DAY)

and I am thinkin that I will have a good bit of smoke left when it comes to the last day.

Could always make my last joint of the trip a really silly one using up all the left overs and then I won't have anything to smuggle.

I am being taken by car directly from the hotel to the airport so I won't have a chance to pick up any last minute "souvenirs"
