cant believe nobody has suggested Lock, Stock and Two Smoking barrels,

. The whole storyline of that film is genius

(Red Eyed Indians suggestion)Harerama Harekrishna, old skool Indian film about white peeps smoking the good stuff in Indian, proper hippy film!!!!

yeeeah lock stock is awesome

everyone should also check out "spun". its about meth not weed,but its sooo good. great acting and amaaaazing directing.

Oh dear God. Sorry, but I can't stand most of those 'stoner' films. Give me The Big Lebowski anyday.

I'd second Ideal though, and add Spaced (Simpsons/Futurama surely goes without saying). Might be tough to get hold of Spaced legitimately in the States as they couldn't get worldwide clearance for a lot of the tracks used.

FWIW some of my favourite films to watch stoned;
The Big Lebowski,
Grosse Point Blank,
Little Miss Sunshine,
You, Me, And Everyone we Know,
The Big Blue,
Leon (The Professional),
Fear and Loathing,
Dead Man,
Down By Law,
Ghost Dog,
Easy Rider,
Fargo,

And for really late night/morning after type situations, I return time and again to Koyaanisqatsi/Powaqaatsi, Almost Round 3 (skate video, one of many but the one I seem to end up watching most) and 2001, all watched on mute with some nice chill-out music playing (AIM, Four Tet, Cinematic Orchestra or similar)

I second that. I remember watching that as a child many years ago (the film was released in 1971). Check out this old famous Hindi Bollywood song:

Well as I said, I can't stand most 'stoner' films, and it doesn't strike me as being that different to You, Me and Everyone We Know or The Big Lebowski, a quirky, life affirming comedy. But then, seeing as you refer to it as the one with the ugly little fucker you may not see the common themes. As you say, each to their own.
