I am going to suggest a 2008 movie that I can almost guarantee no one has heard of... Surfer, Dude.
It stars Matthew McConnaghy, Woody Harrelson, Willie Nelson. Pot head surfers. Absolutely hilarious and at 78 mins titles to credits, it's the perfect length.
This flick totally bombed at the box office, doing something like $100,000us and that was it. I tell you, I've never enjoyed a pot movie as much as this. Usually, the humour is forced and not funny... Surfer, Dude is great.

Kind of agree with Kermit on this one.Kermit wrote:Because it stands out like a sore thumb from the rest.editdroid wrote:Nope sorry. I take it you don't like it, but is it more shocking to you than any of my other choices? I'm curious as to why you've picked that one to beKermit wrote:you are joking

It is the one about the ugly little fucker who enters the little miss sunshine competition?
Just not what you would expect to see in a list of films to watch when stoned.
Each to there own though

Gridlock'd...Tim Roth and Tupac Shakur (his last film before his sad death) decide to kick their drug habits (yeah right) and try to enrol in a govt. drug detox scheme...funny as fuck...
Idol Hands...Hilarious stoner horror comedy...
The Trip...60's Roger Corman's LSD hippy,trippy/psych out...
Zabriskie Point

also agree with Kermit on this one, and most of the films in the list are not really stoner films, lolMr Oranje wrote:Kind of agree with Kermit on this one.Kermit wrote:Because it stands out like a sore thumb from the rest.editdroid wrote: Nope sorry. U can watch ne film while stoned i imagine, but im gonna quote Kermit "each to there own though"
Excuse me while I light my Spliff.....
LOL, Ok I'm outnumbered! But why you're both fixating on that one and not mentioning You, Me, And Everyone We Know, Dead Man or Down By Law is what I found odd. I'd have thought if you felt like that about LMS, then you'd also feel the same about a lot of the films on my list. I was just curious as to why kermit seemed so shocked by the mention of LMS, but didn't seem to mind the rest.Mr Oranje wrote:Kind of agree with Kermit on this one.Kermit wrote:Because it stands out like a sore thumb from the rest.editdroid wrote: Nope sorry. This afternoon I was watching that US classic "There's no Business Like Show Business" which just goes to prove the theraputic properties of the old MaryJane if you ask me.
What a long strange trip it is.

Stoner movie, humph! Our lives are one long stoner movie... and Mr Tango wants to see a fucking stoner movie... some o these suggestions have raised eyebrows. Are our tastes really so limited... Dum maro dumm, mitt jaayeh humm! bollox! what a load of shite.
As a stoner, I watch movies as far removed from the world of drugs as possible. And if I wanna escape into another world - i'll put on an Anime, my recommendation is the best anime ever imo. It's called Samurai Champloo and is in 26 episodes. Superb!

I think some of us like stoner movies because we can relate to their antics. You are right, our lives ARE one long stoner movie...and to see someone else on a quest for the best weed, a quest for the best burger, a quest for the best ___ ....can be insanely funny...Trichome_Dense wrote:Stoner movie, humph! I aint foolish enough to think people actually watch stoner movies exclusively, no.
But the genre is a tired one. A day in my shoes is a stoner movie, a romance, a gangster movie and a feel good family movie all rolled into one...
There's an old world curse in the Sumerian tongue, which I'll translate here - "May you live in interesting times!"... I live in East London, and these days, our streets look like hell got rejected! it's graphic out here... I prefer a good book to a movie anyway...

Really? hmmm, well you certainly have my attention now Luvtick... know something? imo, there is nothing sexier/more attractive than intellect and knowledge shelled inside a stoner chook. Not hitting, just stating!
I'm currently reading "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho for like - the tenth time. Such a charming story comes only once a lifetime... have you read it? What are currently swan necking over?
