When it comes to movies, I deffinately don't exclusively orientate around stoner ones. Before I went traveling I was a cinema manager and have pretty much watched every film that came out in the last 7 years lol.

When I said can any one recommend some good films to watch whilst stoned, I meant ones that you experience in a different manner than when not stoned. I.E Watching the Yellow Submarine is interesting to say the least.

Also Dense, by you saying Anime that has just summed up your charachter straight away.

You can figure my character out just by one clue? You might think your a fruity sort, Mr Tangerine, but you're as dull as a vegetable if you think I was trolling you! I was in fact mortified at the predictable responses posted here. Just no imagination.
For your information,I'm heavily into World Cinema, before you embarrass yourself any further, read my second post in this thread you created, and then go bury your foolish head up yer ass... what a plank!
... as long as it aint a cheque ;)

T.D. just calm down a bit, why do you come down over stuff you dont like? like some intellectualy superior wet blanket.

:) :) :) If you are a founder of the ACD morons club, I'm still a member mate :) :) :)

I hope we can share a pipe and some tips on community action sometime,, Ive been at it for years (community action that is) and it can work, and neighborhoods can turn around.

PS. A down side is that my Kids can no longer afford to live around here, because as the "Right to Buy" social housing rules got relaxed some of our fellow "activists" bought up, cashed in and FFF'd off.

Back on Topic. For me for 9 hours of total lost life has to be....

Lord Of The Rings

Never watched it back to back though

Peace :) n

Well, not to aggravate this minor tiff, but seeing as TD seems to be the only person who shares my exasparation with 'stoner' films (in the sense of films that, to my mind, cynically target the pothead market, often neglecting such basics as script, direction etc in favour of cheap laughs and tired cliches), I would just like to point out that Mr Oranje claimed to 'get' TD's character from the fact that he likes anime. Hardly fair really, or polite if you ask me.
But shall we try to avoid making judgments on people's character based on their taste in motion pictures? Hard, I know, we all have our preconceptions, but I will if you will.

And if I may add to my list;

Election
Rushmore
The Wonder Boys
Swingers

Sorry TD, I can be such a bitch, but the thought of a head up the bum before breakfast was just too much.

All the usuall suspects are already stated, but I'd like to through In Bruges into the ring. Almost every word from Mr Farrell's mouth had me in Stitches. He plays the Dumb, sensitive paddy very well IMO.
Certainly not an out and out Stoner Flick, but funny when Stoned none the less!

I don't particularly enjoy the so-called stoner movies because, IMO, they are usually full of bogus stereotypes and, at best, very old stale unimaginative jokes. (Having said that, I have watched most of ones previously mentioned and had a few giggles)

I used to find those old Yank propaganda films (from 1930's onward) funny to watch when either high or when sober. The topics of these films covered the gamut from the evils of marijuana, communism, pre-marital sex, and so on.

The humour in those films was completely unintentional and that is why I found them so amusing. Hence, Reefer Madness is a classic. Two tokes and the person becomes a homicidal maniac......Where can I get some of that herb? :D

Thanks for reminding me of that one, a colleague recommended it to me but I'd completely forgotten about it. Will have to see if the local video shop has it.

Baraka.
Not a direct stoner movie, however a movie to get stoned by.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103767/

No talking. A simple musical montage of the world which gets seriously trippy watching.

Seconded. Directed and shot by the DOP of Koyaanisqatsi. Personally I like these films as end of the night (ie trip) chill-out material. Great visuals, and if you don't want to listen to the soundtrack you can put the ambient music of your choice on.

Or some straight edge if you prefer.

When this thread was started, I assumed one of two things, either it was movies about stoners or movies that are fun to watch when stoned. In the 70s there were some wild movies geared to stoned people but not necessarily about stoned people. I cant recall them bot one that sticks out is Kentucky Fried Movie. I also love to watch a good B rated horror movie such as those shown at the Imagine Film Festival over 420. I think picking amsterdam to have this film festival was a perfect place. Pink Floyds The Wall was a good one and so was True Stories by the Talking Heads.
