I keep forgetting everything is so close together. Hopefully, I'll get a better grasp of the area after a day or two. Hell, we'll probably walk right past Ben on our way somewhere else :)

Thanks for the info, my friend. Sorry about being such a pest.
coffeeshop BEN and Cafe 420 are on opposite sides of the main thoroughfare, they're about 100 feet approx apart. so if you hit one, be sure to hit the other!

and BTW, I love talking weed so you're not a pest!

just on the train to amsterdam... thought i'd take a minute to share a story...

we were at HGF a few days ago and a bald guy was instauseslling new patio dividers to separate HGF patio from their neighbours. These glass partitions probably weighed 40 pounds each. the guy doing the work said that HGF was told to mount the partitions on blocks so they wouldn't tip over.

anyways, the point of the story... this bald headed guy is not too bright. first, he uses one table to place his drill case on, instead of on the ground... it's only a beautiful day and the patio is packed, but he's tying up one table.

then after finishing the first install (all the time with a joint hanging from his mouth) he disappears for 10 mins. well it is windy out and the unanchored partition falls over onto the adjointing patio, just missing a customer next door,... almost smashing itself and ruining two tables in the process.

so out comes mr bald, and the guy who almost got drilled in the head is pissed. mr bald is like "guess that was a near miss" and keeps smoking his doob... never apologizes for nearly sending a bloke to the hospital.

never a dull moment in amsterdam.

In the UK he would have been arrested for not adhearing to Health & Safety laws.

I can't take a shit at work without filling out a bit of paperwork.

SUN JUNE 28

We got in late and missed the 4:20 meet n greet... so first off, apologies to you folks. Our train was delayed coming into Centraal by about 20 mins. Then we had to meet up with our renter, and when we did finally get to the apartment we used all our cash on the rent. We were hungry and tired so the Mrs and I trekked around to find an AMBRO since our cards don’t work in ING machines... back to central... only ING, down the Damrak to find one, and grabbed some MacD’s for the first time in Euro... ahhh familiar fatty taste on both sides of the Atlantic!!!! On a side note, I read in the paper that the France chain of MacD’s is the 2nd most profitable MacD’s chain in the world!!! I thought them French had the food thing figured out... hmmm...guess not.

Apologies again for missing today, but we’ll def be there for the next two. By the time we ate it was already after 5pm.

Back to haarlemmerstraat where our apartment is basically attached to Barney’s Coffee Shop, what luck! When the wife hooked us up with this pad on Friday, the owner said it was pretty close to Barney’s, and it’s so close we’ll making it home base for this 4 day trip.

Let me state for the record, I smoked a lot of weed at a lot of shops (official totals coming at the end of the report) the first trip out. I don’t intend to spend this trip trekking around Amsterdam, we’re hitting a select choice of shops and smoking premium product this time. We are going to take it easy, rest our feet...the Mrs will do some shopping and i will be high 24/7.

So with that in mind, we made two stops before crashing, first 2 grams of Arjan’s #1 from Greenhouse, 24e.

Then off to Barney’s, for 5 grams Red Dragon...super spongey to the touch, and boy is it absolutely caked with trichs! This was near the end of the batch said the budtender, but it is just as good as the first time... best smoke so far for both of us. The Mrs says about the RD “it makes me want to smile”... and she is... I’m watching her sitting and smiling while I type.

Also grabbed 2 grams of Dr grinspoon and 10e worth of royal jelly. Now the RJ is 55e a gram and the Mrs said forget about it before I could even ask...but the budtender (met this guy three times in three visits so far... great tender, always quick with the weed show and ALWAYS wants you to touch and feel it!)... anyways, the budtender says ‘you don’t need to buy a gram, try 10e worth.’ Yessirree! Total purchase at Barney’s today was 106e for 7+ grams of weed (about 3x what i pay at home), papers and plugs thrown in for free.

Dr grinspoon is an almost instant hit straight to the cheeks, i love this stuff. Rolled a gram blunt in a rizla ultra thin and it cuts right through the Red Dragon. Bingo Mofo! The good Dr doesn’t have any buds like most weed. It’s just like quazar haze, which i mentioned in the shop. I remember the budtender saying that Dr grinspoon was Quazar haze 2.0, he was right. I noticed he didn’t pick the bits of weed off the stem before measuring. When i bought Quazar at Amnesia, the budtender was very careful to remove the stems...nice touch. But i wonder, now that i’m sitting here picking these very sticky bits off the wood...maybe Amnesia makes hash out of the bits? The wood on the Grinspoon is covered in trichs and very sticky. I already removed the major stem, so we’ll roll the rest ;)

Ok, i said originally that this thread would be LIVE, and it is! I am reporting the outcome of the Dr G as a success... I am smoking it right now and enjoying it immensely. I was able to get three nice kingsize jays out of 2 grams. If you look closely at the bud pics, there are little yellow cones, almost like yellow peppers. Cool.

Sorry for such a long read but folks let me say i am stoned and loving it large in Amsterdam!

Wish you were here!!!

Forgot to mention...

Bought 1 gram of Pink Kush for 15e at Popeye and planned to smoke it there, but it had to be 35-40 Celsius in that joint. I rolled it but saved the burn for our apartment. Smoked it and boy the coughing, and not much of a high i’m afraid.

Going to hit the Dragon for a couple before some Grinspoon/Royal jelly for a night cap.

Monday’s plan is heavy on final tourist sites that should be complete by 3pm, leaving plenty of time for the meet n greet with Insular and i think Burgers too at 420pm at the Katsu.

Should be good times!

Excellent report. :)

Has me sitting here wishing time would roll on a bit. 3 weeks on Wednesday!! Can't wait - will be smoking like a fiend. I'll end up skint though - have a list of stuff I want to try, and know I will - just can't help myself over there, like a chunky kid in a chocolate shop.

Send it on!
