Yea i saw roboc**k grabbing the poor woman by the throat! he was a real charmer & i bet hes mates with notinghams PC TAZER TAZER TAZER lol,We are slowly turning into a police state here! in fact without sounding to negative this country is drowning in its own s**t,From our so called leaders right down to the banking/justice & even social systems.

What an absolute disgrace! What’s the betting that the main stream news channels choose to bury this news story in favour of more MP scam stories... Free country my arse! The police have always intimidated and bullied at protests, but finally people are now catching such incidents on video and these videos are seeing the light of day.

Talking of surveillance. I got a friggin parking ticket through the post at a typical UK motorway service station, several weeks later. I had no idea there was a two hour limit at these places and it cost me £50 because I stayed a little longer than I should have. It even clocked the exact time I entered the car park and when I left with apparent photographic proof. I guess there is some automatic system in place, so be aware.

It's shit with this newly passed law that you can now get parking fines through the post from CCTV.

Thats a bit shit but there are lots of signs around saying its a 2hr limit plus why does anyone need or want to spend that long at a service station for anyway?

I had a business meeting and we all met half way between where we live and a motorway service station was an ideal place. Another person in the meeting also went over the time slightly and got a fine too.

I didn't anticipate getting fined from automated CCTV without a warden physically sticking a ticket on my car at the time and getting it through the post weeks later. This law has only just come into practice and it sucks.

I dont know when 'this law' came into place but I do know that the 2 hour maximum has been in place for years, I used to be a Courier driver and the 2 hr maximum law was in place then (probably 8 years ago).

However worded, it could only be an 'invoice' for a 'service' not a 'fine'. In fact, if worded as a fine, the company issuing was already overstepping the mark - Private Parking Companies do not have the authority to issue 'fines'.

Yes, this is interesting. As a result both of us who got the extra charge (and you're right, the word fine does not appear on the ticket, btw) are looking into it.

I do anything between 400 to 700 miles in my car per week and often visit service stations for brief stops. That 2 hour limit simply escaped me that day, thinking that no warden actually patrols these places anyway, I was livid to get a fine by CCTV and as far as I know, this practice has only just been brought in several months ago, ie, you can now be booked regardless if a ticket is placed on your car or not.

Anyway, cheers all for the feedback and now looking into it.

Update on my parking ticket (I'm ranting, I know) lol

Sent the gits a £50 cheque to cover two cars instead of £100. (50 each)

Still waiting from the gits, although I'm thinking I should have ignored all letters, now.
