Just bought my tickets online through Easy Jet. Now they are asking me to provide all passport details prior to going to the airport :s theres a group of 10 of us...Is this like a new law been brought in to travel to the Netherlands?

Are you checking in online? Thats the only reason I could see them asking for passport details before you get to the airport.

I have now been asked for this also, flying through BMI baby. We weren't asked for them when we originally made the booking about a month ago so it must be very new.

Does seem a bit odd, the only other country I know of with the same policy is the USA, and you can understand why for them really. Would be interesting to hear from any locals about the matter. Is this a new Dutch law or just new across the board airline policy?

It's an British thing, When flying from the States I didn't have to provide my passport details, but the last time I flew to Edinburgh a few months ago they asked for my details.... same for my flight to london in July....

but at least it's not like entering the US, where they take all your fingerprints on both hands and a digital photo of you... if you're a foreigner....

Hmmmm i rang Easy Jet and asked why these details were needed at this stage, and they said that its a new policy in Europe due to certain countries not having boarder controls. He didnt explain very well and id suggest if anyone needs to kno you should ring the general enquiries for the air line your flying with.
Thanx for the time to answer though guys :)

(The dates Fly are Wednesday 2nd September to Saturday 5th September)

I had an email requesting mine too, after I booked my flight a couple of months ago for July. You have had to do this to travel to Spain for a bit, but I actually think this is a British request rather than a dutch one (I could well be wrong) all seems very Big Brother to me.
