Can anyone confirm a bar that serves absinthe? My travel companions were incredibly disappointed, and I had hoped there would be at least somewhere we could go. I remember seeing bottles available at a liquor store on Nieuwezijds, but would prefer a bar.....

The Bottle. I'm pretty ignorant on the subject of absinthe so I don't know if the liquor or its attendant ritual will meet yer standards. They do however, advertise absinthe on their website.

Near the bottom they write, "Besides our draft beer Amstel and Heineken, we have a variety of drinks and even serve the notorious Absinthe in traditional style."

Plus it's smoker friendly. And they close at 3 a.m., 4 a.m. on the weekends.

Also, I think you can get absinthe at Cafe Tetra on NZV, though I'm not 100% sure. They're also smoker-friendly. Hope this helps.

Prague (Czech Republic) is renouned for Absinthe also called the green fairy. The drink is nothing but a romantic myth, despite the active ingredient that makes authentic Absinthe which is wormwood, Absinthe is nothing but very high alcohol content liquor.

I do like it and the whole procedure in drinking it, but many believe it has halucinogenic properties, naively.
