Full moon over Utrechtestraat

Post by Epsilon »

... it was our last CS of the day ,Sevilla never been there before, they were open at 11 on a Sunday nite .,has some outdoor tables, and we were runnin low on weed.. so we got 2 White Rhino ,hard to tell really if it was any good .It was the last smoke of the day- started with Morning Breeze , more of that Silver Pearl from HGF -this stuffs wicked , Purple Kush GP , holy crap ...there was Bas Special -It really is , but it didn't help me in the Scrabble Game , Ys are still worth 8 ...A Pure HJ from Tweedys ,the Moroccan part of the menu ...So thats maybe why we can't tell just how good this white rhino from Sevilla is...
bet we'll find out tomorrow ...so theres the weed stuff ... We went in Hill St. BLues on Warmoestraat ...I really liked the shop ...got a HJ and a nice fruit mix there ... those big couch areas would be ideal for a meetup I think ...So back at Sevilla - de vrouw sees something blowing up from the Rembrandtplein ...whoa its a 20 E note just blowin in the wind ...right into her hand ...
With the full moon risin ,into the mists ,over Utrectestraat

there was a Dylan / Joan Baez vibe the day we got into town ,you'd hear one in a CS ,then another , from some canal house ,on a boat floatin down the gracht ...Bright clear Saturday ....Situated in the hotel by 9:30 .Morning Breezing it at Little shortly thereafter... they have stickers for you to take away there ,nice guitar case souvineer there , was a sweet young girl runnin the shop... she was playin Joan Baez ,singing Dylan songs ... meanwhile the Prinsengracht was coming alive with boats .By evening there were brass band and doowop boats....and hotrod boats chasing babe boats .Just a steady stream of entertaining Urban hijinx for those of us fresh from the holler...

still don't know how good that White Rhino is ...after breakfast : Bas Special , then to the Cuyp w/ de Vrouw and L ...Got Black Widowized at Katsu , then got bakeryized and headed to the S-Park while the others did more Cuypy stuff...nice park , Ninja Joggers ...and long legged birds , plenty of benches ...a few items of note ...some of the ING bank ATM machines are down ...or are working intermittently ... have seen "temporarily out of service" on a few ... the Nightwatch 3D is gone again from Rembrandt Plein ...and so are the benches around the outer part of the Square .

We made it to HGF for the Meetup Tuesday- Recognized Andy as he walked in ,though de Vrouw says he's much cuter in person than in that pic ... smoked some Cheese , and Silver Pearl .Then Squiggy & Lucky Kadys Parents arrived ( wait'll she turns 18 and they all come to Amsterdam,That will be a bash ) ...lost track of all the stuff goin around at that point ,but I seem to remember Lemon Haze ,and more cheese ... WHOA ...Too bad we couldn't have met earlier in our stay. Would've been fun to play Coffeeshop tag in Amsterdam for a few days with them ....

Rainy market day in Leeuwarden...told them I'll be at Utoop . There are no less than 8 Cses within five minutes of the room here ,we've been in maybe 5/6 of them so far ... good shops all
http://www.bedandbreakfastleeuwarden.nl/

....theres a strong local scene, good prices ...the centrum looks great ... Its 5 layer weather in July ,
Sent Fly some menus from this town....Master Kush showed up at CS de Os
Most shops here sell in 5s so you can sample a fair part of the menu ... have probably written it down somewhere ...got a 5 of Sour Diesel here at Utoop just now ...Well the rain stopped ,back to Market Day in Leeuwarden

Roadtrip Checkin- Zutphen -new contender for best smoke of trip -The 48 Special from Plein 48 ...don't know what it is ,but we knew it was special right away ....Pulled out of Leeuwarden Saturday afternoon , was hard to leave . Great CS Scene ...and the citys lookin good...a few traffic snarlups ....like Groningen redoing a 1 K stretch of their ring gave us an unexpected trip thru the city ...eventually we made it to Bourtange on the German Border ...kind of a smaller Naarden or Heusden - an old fortress town ,earthen walls ,lots of moats ,lush countryside, brreather from the cities ...so we walk around moats ...take pictures , get high in the guard towers sort of thing ...took Master Kush , Northern Lites , Sour Diesel from LW . ...did us well ...had a currywurst in Nordhorn ,Germany for lunch today...kinda our cross border experience this trip ...oh and loaded up on Knoppers ,and drove at a high rate of speed on the 31 ....anyway ...For you Cheeseheads - Haven't seen a Cheese on the menu since leaving Amsterdam ....The crows went nuts in this town right at sunset...maybe its the cathedral bells, comin home to roost... don't know ,but it was a show ....

8 AM Zutphen - Just back from a morning walk thru the mostly quiet streets ...photo ops aplenty in the early light...made it to CS Liberty to see if I could still find it ...yup .opens at 10 since its July. This shop can't open until 4:30 when school is in session apparently...too close to the young 'uns. They'll be dreaming of skipping class and getting fried I suppose. It occurred to me then that the CS fight will have to come down to the locals in towns like Leeuwarden , Zutphen ...maybe more so than what Amsterdam wants ...The scene is pure here , tourists are irrelevant ...we've been welcomed ,gotten into friendly conversations with patrons ,budtenders etc... Whenever I asked in Leeuwarden if I could photograph a menu it was ..."But of Course" ,then they'd give us a free lighter...or this "Koffie is from me" ... The centrum of LW is positively thick with Coffeeshops ...good coffeeshops , excellent Coffeeshops ...Repelsteeltje, De OS , Miami, de Zone , Utoop ,Downtown , Sacramento .were the seven we visited in our three day stay with several more to chose from ... This is the best non Amsterdam scene I've experienced ...Said that before .Even more true this year . Now , on to Morning Coffee and a day in Zutphen

They give you a mirror when you go into St Walpurgis Church . First I thought I was having a bad hair day ...then the lady points it straight up into the high domes and you can see all the paintings up there real clear...theres like 20 domes in this place and the sound is bouncing all over the place ...very spacey ...that was after our visit to CS Liberty earlier this afternoon ...White Widow . first time this trip ....good smoke...some very interesting acoustics in that place ...they have like a ten thousand watt organ mounted into the wall... the 48 Special from the Plein 48 best in town so far ....got a little extra ,in case I make it to the birthday bar-bq Saturday ....
