Edit: Scratch that we're signed up with the NEC for priority bookings (normally the day before general sale) so we booked a couple of seats for the Bham show, looking forward to it already!
Priority booking

How'd you manage that? Excellent idea. I'm sat here with 2 hours to go until tickets go on sale, 4 windows open for different ticket agencies, hoping for a good seat.
Have a great one.
John
Edit....I'm all booked up for Manchester

6 standing tickets & 4 seated in the front of the Arena.....Roll on Summer

We booked our tickets through the NEC's own booking site which we've used before (to see Velvet Revolver) and thanks to signing up for the email newsletter we we're allowed to book a day early

Nice pics, what about Axl did he behave himself like being on time and that? What about the music did they play a lot of the old stuff or was it a showcase for the new album (Chinese Democracy I think its going to be called, should be shit hot considering its took something like 10 years to make)

I've copied this setlist from another recent concert and changed bits I remembered.
Welcome To The Jungle,
It's So Easy,
Mr. Brownstone,
Better,
Live And Let Die,
Guitar Solo [Robin],
Sweet Child O' Mine,
Knockin' On Heaven's Door, (with a reggae twist)
Madagascar,
You Could Be Mine,
Piano Solo [Dizzy],
Guitar Solo of Don't Cry [Bumblefoot], .
November Rain,
Chinese Democracy,
There Was A Time,
Patience,
Guitar duet [Bumblefoot & Izzy Stradlin], Cover of Christine Aguelieras Beautiful. Worked well, surprisingly.
Nightrain
encore:
Guitar Solo [Robin],
Paradise City
They came on stage 9-30 until 11-30. No tantrums or mishaps. Excellent performance and Axl's voice was as good as ever, he still has the energy to cover the whole stage, although the stages are a little smaller than in the 90's
The new songs sound great. I'd not heard any new stuff before but Axl asked the crowd "Have any of you heard our new album? I'll bet you fuckers have downloaded it already"

Download new album

Awesome pictures bigjohn, thanks very much for sharing them.
Axl does look a little aged by now but (although a little before my time) I always remembered him for running from one corner of the stage to the other all concert long - so if he can still do that and sound the same, that would have been a hell of a night to go to.
I havn't been following much of the bands progress (or not) in the last several years, but i'm guessing Axl and Slash have not made up since Slash left the band in the mid 90's??

The words he started the concert with. Looking forward to seeing them again on the 23rd at Manchester. He can still put on a show as good as in the 90s. Tickets are still available for the UK tour later this month on ebay, well worth the £40-50 asking price.

Do i get the award for rescurrecting the oldest thread?
Has anyone heard the new album? Thoughts?
I'm just back from a weekend in Dam, first trip in 2 years, wow that place has changed & not for the better. Rookies was a big big let down, i used to love a beer & smoke there, it's like a old fashioned classroom now with the glass partition.
Pink Floyds (Dampkring 2) I'd heard about the takeover but this was my fav morning wake n bake shop, They've got rid of the internet and made all the seating uncomfortable, i don't think they want u to stay too long. ha. The smoke is excellent however
A fab time was had in Dam as always

Nice to see you back John.
I love the new album especially the title track and Better.
Like I mentioned to you earlier I'd read that Axl is trying to get the original GnR back together for a world tour, something I'd love to see.

I'd love to see him get back with slash & Duff, Madagascar would have been an awesome tune if slash woz playing.
I personally think that he's had this album on the back burner waiting to release it with the original line up, thats not happened so he's decided to release it anyway, No2 in album charts apparently.
