Out of all the times i've been to A'Dam i went with someone one time and all the rest alone and its great alone. Simply you go where and when you want without waiting on others or worrying about them. Get lost its all part of the experience.

I prefer solo too. You'll meet loadz of cool people in CS! Been going to Amsterdam solo three times and its all good, thought it was very safe, exept for my last trip, a morocan guy was following me and for some reason knew i was a frenchspeaker!?? He did that ''i grab ur shoulder friend thing trick'' I saw it coming n took his hand that was about to be in my pocket, it was on warmoostraat, guy went mad and he stepped on my shoe and wanted to rob me, had to push the prick twice before he gave up the idiot.

Yeah solo is the way to go........most of my trips have been solo.......it's a great city to be alone in....as for eating alone......you don't have to eat alone it is part of the Dutch culture to share a table with a complete stranger........so just dive in.......but i must admit it is much more easy if you can speak some Dutch.........Hoe gaat het ?... waar kom je vandaan ?...Woon je hier in amsterdam of ben je op vakantie.........and so on........happy travels :D
