I think it would be a good idea, especially if you plan on taking day trips.

I have a Tom Tom, use it everday as I drive my car all over the West countrty UK with my line of work. When in Amsterdam though, I find you can't beat a good folding map as you can see the bigger picture (overall) of the relatively small city it is. It has to be a very good map, which I do have, with everything plotted on it. No batteries, nothing to lose and nothing to carry around as such. It works fine for me, everytime.

I also have a copy of the ACD map saved to my phone which I find great for reference.
If im with the boys or my better half I leave all the navigating to them.

Thanks for the POI's!
The ACD map electronically is a great idea. I'll see if I can get it onto my Garmin.
I downoaded the ACD pdf map to my pc then transfered it to my Nokia via Usb.. not added it to Garmin or Tom Tom. This way I can zoom into the map.

Nice map, but requires a login and there seems to be no sign up link.
Any ideas or was this a personal project?

It's very much a personal project and I keep working on it every now and then. Once completed, I'll release it with no log in, I'm in no rush and it will take a while to do as well, but it will make a great wall poster, A2 in size.
