I've had a gram on the Quaser Haze from Barneys once, and its gave me a very clear high, i would say its worth trying a gram even though its 17E per gram, and i think the Pure Equatoial Sativa is the same thing.

I've had Arjans haze before, and it wasnt the best, bit of a harsh smoke.

Dr Grinspoon, i havent tried yet, but i intend to get at least a gram when i return to Dam at the end of the month

Hope this helps

Try to stay out of the main name coffeeshops as much and you'll find good buds. Do a bit of research on the forum and youll see the strains that are kicking arse atm, have a look in the Travelogue After/During section for up to date info.

Im sure those strains are nice, i however am not going to be paying out my arse for buds when good buds at good places with good prices are able to found.

Get your Quaze from Bluebird i think, its cheaper than Barneys.

sorry, I am always saying everyone should have his own opinion, but this just isnt right. I agree, that Greenhouse is a tourist-shop and I dont find the weed anything special as well, especially their high praised hazes, which are crap!
BUT, there are good big-name shops as well, like the Dampkrings, the shops of Robert (Mellow Yellow,Noon...) and the Kadinskys. All of them are selling high quality buds for very reasonable prices (although I am no Kadinsky-fan, the quality of their bud is great!).
The same rip-off you get from Greenhouse could happen to you in a local-shop (trust me, we have tried many small local-shops in holland).

I hit all of these, you can read here: https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9519

I also agree with the above opinions about not having to smoke the biggest names at the busiest shops... however, there's also nothing wrong with doing it if you want.

Just remember, you will probably find a real gem at 10-12e a gram that does exactly the same things as a 16-20e a gram smoke.

Have fun!

Balls to staying out the so called 'big' touristy shops.

Most people don't go to Dam that often and want a blow out they are on HOLIDAY after all.

Also most people don't buy thier green like they are buying a mortgage!!!!!

Get in the big shops mate all the weed you mentioned WILL BE A+

One I would add is last year's cannabis cup winner Super Lemon Haze from greenhouse it was incredible last time I was thier.

I think what you pay for from Barney's, Greenhouse, Damkring ect is a guarantee the weed is gonna be thier or thier abouts. You are not going to get a bag or twigs or some crap that don't get you high.

Im not arguing and saying they are better than anywhere else and yes thier will be a picasso or Katsu out thier who on a certain day will have better stuff than any of the above but if you go around hitting little shops you will also buy a lot of shite to get that one gem.

Like a said with the bigs guys you've got a guarantee but you do pay for it.

I rarely buy anything from any of the 'chain' coffeeshops anymore, last trip I tried the Red Cherry Berry from Barneys which looked and smelt superb but was weak as shit, the same with the Grape from Dampkring, I haven't bought anything from Greenhouse in a while as most of what I've had has been badly grown/flushed/cured crap.

I think with age comes wisdom as does trips to the Dam.

If you've been multiple times then your gonna know some unseen gems however im not a fan of anybody telling people they SHOULD NOT go to a certain chain for whatever reason.

Take the orginal Damkring shop as an example that place now gets right on my tits if I see god dam George Clooney or Brad 'Arm' Pitts im gonna scream.

However, I remember when I first ever went inside and thought it was so cool that this coffeeshop was in a major movie I remember it made the whole trip excellant and memorable.

Now for me to persuade someone not to go thier just becuase now I believe it's tooooo touristy and Oceans 12 shite gets on my nerves is robbing that person of a really good experiance I feel.

I think saying yeah man's barney's is all right but I think the shit from Mellow Yellow is the bomb = ok

Saying mate don't go to that shit heap Barney's it's a total rip spend your money at Mellow Yellow = a no no.

I agree with everything you have said mate

I like Barneys, even though they seem to be a little bit more expensive than everywhere else, however, the weed has always been top draw for me.

Greenhouse do some ok weeds, and i've had the Super Lemon Haze, and it was real tasty, just dont like the Greenhouse shops!!

Shady, if you look at what i actually wrote without cutting it off half way through it says you can find good buds at good prices in good shops. I dont like the vibe of Barneys or massivly packed out places, the prices are expensive whatever way you twist it and i find the buds at places like Siberia or Katsu to be better than the buds ive brought at Greenhouse, Barneys throughout the entrie menu. You may be able to find some good buds at the chain shops, good on you if you have. My personal experience is that shops like Paradox and Katsu offer a better experience in terms of atomsphere, but if you would rather sit in Barneys and pay out your arse for quality you can find elsewhere cheaper, than for instance Basjoes, with cool employees good weed and decent prices thats your deal.

With Mellow Yellow and the Noon, i think the whole forum knows how much you love them, and i have had a few good buds from there and tbh, the blueberry deal is good. But i think you let your love of Mellow Yellow cloud your judgement on it. See the topic where u reccomend it for outside seating

Again i agree with you, everyone does have a right to have an opinion. But is it really respected when its shot down straight away?

Benny Backer : its fair enough if you like the coffeeshops with the big names, but it is afterall a forum with peoples opinions on the shops. Why is it so wrong to tell people to stay out of them, there prices are shit, and the bud quality usually matches it. I have never scored a bud in Barneys which has stood out as the best of the trip. You dont pay for a guarentee on the buds, you pay because its aimed at people new to city looking for a safe first experience, you pay because its enters itself in the cannabis cup and you pay because people are willing to pay the prices and take the shit because of the whole buying weed over the counter thing.

If you think all the weed in the chain coffeeshops are A+, then good for you. Why dont you go score in Bulldog or Grasshoppers? I would say that if you consider all the weed in those places to be A+, maybe you need to get out there and try a few different shops as honsetly, i have never brought a piece of bud from Greenhouse which i was completely happy with in relation to drying, cure and price. But im sure the pictures of celebs on the wall more than make up for it.

If you like Barneys, thats your call, but remember next you buy a gram in there to turn your head and smile at Derry while he lubes you up and aims for penertration. Enjoy being crammed up like sardines and the staff who will scream at you if you havent got a drink. Enjoy paying 12 quid for an irish breakfast, which is possibly one of the worst breakies my intestine has dealt with.

If you guys like the big name shops, thats cool. I offered advice on a question asked, and its been jumped on like the Micheal Jackson band wagon, which is fine. But at the same time if your offended by my reply, it is written in the same dismissive tone you have addressed my post with. Amsterdam exisits beyond, my new faveourite term, the stoner rectangle, and theres some cool less known shops with very good buds. Just because they dont have the name you've heard about in High times does not mean they wont be good.

Enjoy sitting in the big name shops, looking at the nicely polished cannabis cups and lifeless eyes of the celebs staring at you while smoking on your weed thats cost you 12 euro a gram, but can be found for 9 euro a gram else where, and your coffee thats cost you 4 euro and has about as much kick in it as the modern day Johhny Wilkinson. If you get sick of it, come find me in Paradox

Edit : Rokerji and Dampkring are useful for the sit on the floor vibe in Rokerji and the Rifman Hash in Dampkring, i was too quick to completely dismiss them. I cannot forgive Dampkring for what they done to Pink Floyd, but by your guys logic its probably better as a Dampkring....
