sounds like your letting them know that you are aware and will go elsewhere.
I shall ask nicely also.
Good stuff

Wow, what a subject. OK time for my 2 cents. It is their shop and they can have any policy they want. If they drive away business, tough luck for them, but I can see the point of being annoyed by rude tourists every day and having a bad attitude....But.......then again if it wasn't for the rude tourists, where would their income come from?
I am going to be in town for the first time in August. I have a list of shops I will definitely hit. If I am treated poorly, I can surly spend my money some where else.
The shops have been there long before I knew what weed was and I am sure they will be there after I am dead.

You can order half a larger in a pub if you want to get technical, so don't talk bollocks.
Actually, I will get technical since I said purchase "half a bottle" and not "half a larger(sic)".
These are obviously two different things, unless you know of a pub that serves "half bottles".
Because if you do know of such a place, I'd like to visit.
I'm just curious though, would I get to the top half of the bottle or the bottom half of the bottle?

In Britain you have to remember we drink pints, so you can buy half pints in a pub. Cultural based mis-communication there.

did I misunderstand, or did one of your friends try to sit in bushdoctor without buying a drink?
For the record, I don't remember ever once being told I couldn't smoke my own weed in a C/S, in 8-9 visits. Not that my memory is the best, ahem.

Personally I don't like being forced into buying smoke from a coffeeshop as it always makes me wonder why they're so keen to push it on me. Good gear sells itself. The better coffeeshops know this because they feel no need to push it onto you. If I am told I must buy there wares then I politely decline and walk away.
For the purpose of the thread here's a couple of coffeeshops I now avoid as they force you to buy to smoke there.
Popeye's (i've heard good things about some of their stuff but despite ordering drinks AND food I was still quite rudely told I MUST buy some weed to sit here)
Old church (Always a favourite of mine until they bought in their new house rules)
Since the smoking ban however, it should be noted that some shops with relatively small tobacco areas will ask you to make a purchase from their menu to use the smoking area, this is more understandable as you are still welcome just to buy a drink but cannot use the smoking area. I guess it would be unfair on customers buying weed if they cannot get a seat in the smoking area because it's full of people smoking their own.

when i go in & already have smoke, i usually skin up 1st &then order a drink, (im a bit of a fussy fucker when it comes to joints & always want it perfect) that can sometimes take 10-15mins when rolling some hard pressed hash like caramello &i dont want my tea going cold. the guys in 420 have never told me to get a drink before skinning up. also when i go in there &pull out a bag of smoke from another cs & the guy(soulrider told me his name but ive forgot it) who sorts out all of 420's gear see's it, he'l come along & have a look &give his opinion on it

Hi Everyone, I have been visiting the dam for twenty years now and have made around 30 trips.... at least i think i have .They all seem to merge into one over the years!!! but i am sure you all know the feeling.
My thoughts on this are . i would never enter a coffeeshop and not buy anything i think people who do this are taking the piss, however to have to buy weed is just wrong .The various analogies with regard half pints, sandwiches etc are all to me irelevant .The fact is they are coffeeshops and if i just want to buy a drink i will .I do not have a problem with minimum buys if bush doctors says 2g or 20 euros that is fine, however i have on many occasions bought only the 1g there and not had any hassle.
I think the idea of listing shops that make you buy is a good one and turdheads attitude should not be questioned, this is a good debate in my opinion.
The fact is you dont have to stay if you do not like the place just go somewhere else there is plenty of great shops and people in the Dam.Finally the old church is a shithole anyway and i would not waste my time in there .Sorry if i have offended anyone but it is all about opinions!!!

the only person offended will be the owner who came on here recently trying to justify selling loozas at 3eu a go(which DC told us cost them about 50c each) & selling only bigger overpriced bags of hash because that apparently is what everyone wants

dampkring 2 few months back I bought 50 euros of weed - few minutes later girl comes up and says I must buy a drink to smoke there! told her I just spent 50 euros but she was insistent. I bought one anyway but if I wasn't settled down I would have just walked out.
I could have bought a 4.50 bag and a drink and that would have been fine to stay - little logic in her thinking. That was only shop where we anything like this happened.

Sweet Christ what a liberty!
Is there any justification possible for this level of anti-customer attitude?
