Excellent read, shows that the price increase isn't just in Amsterdam as I bought stuff from The Game a few years back and the price then was 2.5 grams for €12

A short rainy drive from Delft to Amsterdam .Drop off Opel Astra at Schipol...Check back into the Prinsenhof ...then out to Sarpathia Park ,via Katsu -More Black Widow Please - to the Birthday Party , after 2 weeks of V & L ( one the wife , one a friend of almost 30 years ) I must say it was a pleasure to enjoy some other company ... Later in the evening we met up with the birthday boy at Basjoes, who grinning from ear to ear showed us the birthday present he got for himself ...

The next few days were a bit of a blur ...always knowing its a long way back home , and a long time until a return ...

Image
Just like this pic ...only changed the sky from white to black

We got 4 day tram/bus passes and they were perfect for us ...L wanted to see the Ann Frank House , and thats see ,not go in , the line wrapped around the corner ...and we wanted to finally make it to Paradox- (If you're reading this Boner -We got a 6 of Choculope ,good stuff -fine shop . I may have enjoyed it more , but there was a seriously out of it stoned dude who kind of took something away from the mood at that time )

...so hop on the Opstopper and bouncy bounce around Prinsengracht ...Dinner with Susy at t' Zwanntje on Berenstraat...bouncy ,bounce again ...and that by the way was the meal of the trip ...Mussels, lots of 'em ... WOW ...13.95 I think ...Could not believe how good that was ...Highly recommended. Need a present for the niece, ...bouncy bounce to WaterlooPlein ...V & L Lingering ...Meet you at Basjoes ...anyway this IS a coffeeshop site so the totals were like 32 shops in 5 cities ...Basjoes remains our favorite Amsterdam shop - but I must admit to being a little put off by there being TWO distinctly different Bas Specials ...though my favorite CS of the trip would be Repelsteeltje in Leeuwarden ...so friendly , so roomy and mellow , such an elegant layout ,so stoned ...and if you didn't notice the bottom of the menu , look again ... V hit it off with some Frisian babes there on the top floor . Taught them how to smoke pure ... they were havin a right giggle fest when I finally realized all the noise from up there was HER ...

anyway ...my favorite strains were the Bas Special -I Think it was the indica one , so tasty , and such an auditory effect ...and the Black Widow , so powerful ...V & L liked the HGF Silver Pearl best ...That one hit me a bit like a sledgehammer though ... The Master Kush from De OS in LW would round out MY Top 3 . We tended to buy 5 or 6 euro amounts so we sampled many a strain ,and after a while it was hard to tell what was what
AMS CSes- sort of in order - Little , YoYo , HGF, Green Place, HillSt. (W),Basjoe, Tertulia, Sevilla, Katsu, Rookies,Kadinsky-Spui, Kadinsky - near the end of Nes, Paradox, Happy People, Stix , Arabica, went in a few others looking for a Hash Joint , or smaller amount than they were willing to sell ...

The final Blowing in the Wind count for V was 50 Euros ...topped off on one of the last days in Kadinsky (the 1 near Spui) when she found a 20 laying right on the floor in front of the dealers booth ...kinda blended into the floor , no one else was in the shop ,just me waiting on her after Mass ...a few had left in the interem , but where did they go ? Who were they ? To make matters better on THE last night I dropped into Old Amsterdam ,looking for an HJ .,and maybe to say a goodbye to Andy , he wasn't there, and the lady working there told me no joints ...so we skipped next door to Arabica , and there on the pavement was an ,at least 3 gram bag of some Mystery Weed . So its 11 PM on our last night and all I wanted was one last HJ ...which I get ...a good one I might add ...and we now have all this weed ...It turned out to be one of the tastiest strains we'd tried ...What a nightcap ...Susy ended up with most of it , and she's the one all those years ago that steered us toward that shop in the first place ... How poetic ...
The Hash thruout the NL was great this year , smoked more of that than we have in the past . The weed in AMS was clearly better than anywhere but Leeuwarden . But clearly pricier as well ...
Music in CSes was mostly great , from the Dylan thing on arrival , to CS Utoops Woodstock Nation theme, to the Plein 48s Tears for Fears , Hall n Oates vibe . HSBlues Nirvana set, de OS playing some Beach Boys of all things ...the only one I wrote sucked was the aforementioned Kadinskys where the pouty tendress was playing whiny adolescent chick music ...Tenders were generally fine though ,with Mata Haris Great GrandDaugther at Repelsteeltje being all of our fave. If I had to make a List of Top CSes ,many of them would be the Leeuwarden shops . We skipped this town for the last few years ...probably won't on our next trip ...was my favorite stop ...

Well I've enjoyed writing this all up , hope someone enjoys reading it , and is maybe inspired to get out and about in the wonderful Netherlands ... could go on a while , but thats all folks ... Hitting the road Friday , heading deep into the heart of Dixie , at least I'll get some good Bar BQ...
