Indica was the last Willie Wortel I checked into, having visited the original Workshop and the others in previous years.
In April 2008, some of our Forum 4/20 Gathering participants were staying in the apartment above this coffeeshop. I took these first two pictures when the rest of us joined them in the coffeeshop.
Our ACD Forum 4/20 Gathering has returned to Willie Wortel's Indica many times over the years. For instance, in 2012, many of the crew took part in the Hempcity Haarlem Cannalympics.
The following six pictures inside the shop are from our Forum visit in April 2018.
The view out of the window is a fine vista of the Adriaan windmill on the other side of the Spaarne river.
Nol van Schaik was a cannabis hero. He was an activist, writer and owner of the Willie Wortel chain of coffeeshops. He helped medicinal users and was involved in attempts to bring the coffeeshop phenomenon to the UK. In Haarlem he brought together all of the coffeeshops to create Hemp City.
Here in 2018 we see him demonstrating one of the rosin presses at Willie Wortel's Indica. I last saw Nol in April 2019 shortly before he died suddenly in July of that year.
In April 2019 the forum gang were back again. We saw Nol briefly but he wasn't expecting us and was just leaving for Spain. Before he left he introduced us to Robo and his mega rosin press, the Robosquisher.
Sadly that was the last time we saw Nol as he died suddenly and unexpectedly in July 2019. He will always be missed.
