Old times sake - sadly this Coffee Shop is no longer with us :(

Post by Ultramann »

I been visiting this shop quite frequntly since August 2000 (My first trip to Amsterdam). However to my dismay I found it closed on my most recent trip to A'dam (Dec 2008). The coffeeshop itself has been replaced by some sort of Restaraunt called the "Mix Grill". This place was always my first stop in A'dam. It will be missed!

This place is long gone. We stayed in the apartments above it 2 weeks ago, its now a kebab/sharoma place now (which was also closed the whole time of our trip!)

If it wasn't for the underweight bags issue at central i would go there in this area. But i personally think the herb at future is much better than that of central, the white widow i got there was the best white widow i got on that trip. Although the music did suck, but it was R'n'B and the like not the heavy trance, i do much prefer the rock tun-ige in central, but purely for the bud i go to future instead.

Not sure if Future has closed down or just for vacation, but the shutters have been down for the last couple of days when i've ridden past...

Yeah I agree dude, although i`ve never had any problem with underweight bags at central I do prefer future, its a chilled out hang out with some qulity smokables without all the hustle and bustle thats happenin in central.

Central is not actually that good!
They have a fantastic location to attract tourists which they readily abuse by selling underweight bags of moderately good weed.
The €25 for 4g may seem like a good deal, but don't be fooled - the quality and weight (or lack of!) can actually be bettered/matched elswhere in town!!!

When you get off the train don't head straight for Central, just a minute or so around the corner you'll find Future as well as plenty of other non rip-off joints...

It's barely another 200 steps past Central, facing the Sea Palace restaraunt. Even if Central is your choice for a buy, Future is worth a visit if you can't find a seat. Nice view from the window seats too, less hectic than Central.
Cool, at least I can vote with a opinion, I remember buying a skunk mix from there which was a few skunks ground up together very sweet taste from what I remember, I'll definitly pop in over xmas for a chill!

Does this shop have a little upstairs bit overlooking the rest of the shop? If so I've been once but it was a fair few years ago, I might pop in over christmas while I'm stocking up on Centrals €25 deals!!

The Good Doctor is bang on, Future is certainly over-looked, despite being one of the best-placed coffeeshops in A`Dam in relation to the train station, Red Light District etc.

It was the 1st shop I ever went to in A`Dam & for that reason alone it will always be special to me, even though I don't like the music played there! I prefer Future to Central anyday, though Central has a fantastic choice of weed, the shop itself is just too small & uncomfortable for my liking.

Good to see Future getting a mention. They also have some very nice Jack Herer last time I went and the musics improved. A very spacious shop on 2 levels and Ive always managed 2 get a table, probably because this shop is mostly overlooked but the staff are friendly and the weed is good and I always try and get here at least once when I visit the dam

Future seems to be unfairly overlooked. A small shop with a nice view of the Old Harbor from the window seats, it seems frequented mainly by locals. The interior is nothing special but it is comfortable and there was always a table to be found. Nice dealer and although a limited menu, top notch stuff at reasonable prices.

Highly enjoyed the White Widow. First stop within an hour of arriving, after a nice fat one I spent the next two hours with incredible visuals that were almost mushroom quality. Welcome to Amsterdam... Fantastic!

This was a regular stop being within crawling distance of the apartment and I highly recommend it as a good visit.

Just goto Central instead!
